PAPER FEEDING MECHANISM
A mechanism for an ADF having upper and lower trays, a base connecting the trays, and a cover pivotally connected to the upper tray includes a housing provided within the base and movable relative thereto. A transmission has a gripping position for transporting paper along a path from the upper tray to the lower tray and a release position allowing a paper jam along the path to be remedied. The cover is pivotable between a first condition maintaining the transmission in the gripping position and a second condition allowing the housing to move relative to the trays to place the transmission in the release position.
OUTPUT HOPPER FOR MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICES
An example disclosed output hopper includes a cavity to receive media units from an output of a media processing device, the cavity to cause the media units to form a stack in a first direction; a first door pivotably movable between a closed position and an open position, the first door to retain the media units in the cavity when in the closed position; a second door movable between the closed position and the open position, the second door to retain the media units in the cavity when in the closed position; wherein the first door is configured to pivot on a first axis substantially parallel to the first direction; and the second door is configured to pivot on a second axis substantially parallel to the first direction.
REJECTED MEDIA UNIT STORAGE FOR MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICES
An example of the claim method includes, in response to detecting a rejected media unit, directing a media feed path towards a reject area. The method includes depositing the rejected media unit into the reject area. The reject area is defined by a cassette surface on a body of the ribbon cassette. The ribbon cassette is unable to be removed from the media processing device until the rejected media unit is removed from the cassette surface.
Image Reading Apparatus
An image reading apparatus, having a housing, a feed tray, and a reader sensor, is provided. The housing includes a reversing guide, a discharge tray, and an opening. The reversing guide is configured to reverse a first face and a second face of a sheet and guide the sheet from a first position toward a second position in a direction from a rear side toward a front side at the first position and in a direction from the front side toward, the rear side at the second position. The discharge tray is arranged at a position lower than the reversing guide and is configured to support the sheet discharged from the conveyer path. The opening is formed between the reversing guide and the discharge tray and is configured to expose the sheet supported by the discharge tray so that the sheet is removed through the front side of the housing.
Sheet feeding device, image reading device, and image forming apparatus
A sheet feeding device includes a stacking unit, a feeding unit, a rotating member, a separation unit, a holding unit, a swinging member, and a guiding unit. The stacking unit stacks sheets. The feeding unit feeds stacked sheets. The rotating member conveys sheets, and is on a feeding unit downstream side. The separation unit separates fed sheets one by one, and contacts the rotating member. The holding unit holds the feeding unit and rotating member, and is rotatable about a rotating member rotation shaft. The swinging members swingably disposed on the holding unit and the guiding unit on a swinging member lower side guides the sheets with contact. A first contact portion of the swinging member and the guiding unit is on a second contact portion upstream side, that is a rotating member/separation unit contact portion. A swinging member swinging shaft is on the first contact portion upstream side.
RECORDING APPARATUS
There is provided a recording apparatus with which it is possible to reduce an occupied space to a small size in a configuration of including a mounting unit and a receiving unit.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus including an image forming unit, first and second discharging portions, first and second supporting portions, an image reading portion, and first and second switching portions is provided. The first switching portion switches between causing a sheet bearing an image formed by the image forming unit to be discharged to the first supporting portion by the first discharging portion and causing the sheet to be conveyed toward the image reading portion that reads the image. The second switching portion switches between causing the sheet whose image has been read to be conveyed toward the second discharging portion that discharges the sheet whose image has been read to the second supporting portion and causing the sheet to be conveyed toward the image forming unit. The image reading portion is disposed above the first discharging portion and further on the inside of the apparatus than the second switching portion.
Sheet feeding apparatus, image reading apparatus and image forming apparatus with sheet feeding apparatus
A sheet feeding apparatus includes a feeding rotating member to feed a sheet, and a separating portion to separate and feed one by one the sheet fed by the feeding rotating member. The separating portion includes a separating rotating member to feed a sheet and a separating member to form a separation nip portion by abutting on the separating rotating member. In addition, a sheet stacking portion on which sheets are stacked is disposed to face the feeding rotating member, and a sheet introducing portion guides the sheet toward the separating portion. The sheet introducing portion being is in a downstream side of the sheet stacking portion and positioned above a tangent line at a contacting point between the feeding rotating member and the sheet stacking portion in a vertical direction. A gap portion is disposed on the sheet introducing portion and outside of the feeding rotating member in a sheet width direction perpendicular to a sheet feeding direction and curves the sheet fed by the feeding rotating member in the sheet width direction.
REJECTED MEDIA UNIT STORAGE FOR MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICES
A media processing device includes: a housing having an opening providing access to a cassette removably supported within the housing; a media unit holder configured to receive a rejected media unit driven between the opening and a body of the cassette along a media reject path; the media unit holder including: a deck having a support surface between a body of the cassette and the opening, the support surface facing the opening; the deck configured to receive the rejected media unit on the support surface for removal of the rejected media unit via the opening.
INPUT HANDLING FOR MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICES
A media processing device includes: a hopper supporting media units (e.g. cards), and a biasing assembly biasing the cards toward a hopper outlet; an input roller for accepting a single card at a hopper slot inlet; a pick roller at the outlet for dispensing a card from the hopper to a media processing path; a motor having an output shaft; a primary drivetrain segment connecting the output shaft with the pick roller; an auxiliary output selector connected to the primary drivetrain segment and switchable between first and second output configurations; first and second auxiliary drivetrain segments connecting the output selector, respectively, with the input roller and a release member for disengaging the biasing assembly; and a selector input movable to switch the output selector between the first output configuration, coupling the primary and first auxiliary drivetrain segments, and the second output configuration, coupling the primary and second auxiliary drivetrain segments.
