MEDIA SUPPORT
In one example, a media support includes a continuous loop belt and multiple suction cups arranged along the outer perimeter of the belt. Each suction cup has a port aligned with a hole in the belt so that air may be evacuated from the suction cup when connected to a vacuum source.
INKJET PRINTING DEVICE WITH DIMPLED VACUUM BELT
An inkjet printing method with an inkjet printing device includes a vacuum belt having a set of air-channels connecting a top-surface and a bottom-surface of the vacuum belt. The set of air-channels couples an inkjet receiver to the vacuum belt by air suction in the set of air-channels, wherein the vacuum belt includes a dimple at the top-surface. The dimple has a closed bottom end, and wherein the dimple is connected with an air-channel of the set of air-channels to form an air cup and to couple the inkjet receiver to the vacuum belt at the dimple by air suction.
VACUUM WITHIN A PALLET CONVEYOR FOR A PRINTING SYSTEM
In one example, a pallet conveyor for a printing system is described, having a track, a pallet to support a print substrate and move on the track, and a vacuum mechanism to selectively apply a vacuum at the pallet. A boundary of the vacuum applied at the pallet is synchronised with an edge of the print substrate.
Scanning inkjet printer with low friction transport belt
A printer includes a transport belt and a suction box. The suction box is in fluid connection with a suction source to apply an underpressure to a print medium on the transport belt. The suction box is provided with a plurality of protrusions having free ends that define a support plane for the transport belt and are provided with inlet openings. The transport belt is air permeable and endless, is provided over the suction box, and is provided with an inner channel structure which connects outer openings on an outer side of the transport belt to inner openings on an inner side of the transport belt. The inner openings are positioned to align with the inlet openings, and the inner channel structure widens from the inner openings to the outer openings.
