PAPER SHEET HANDLING MACHINE AND PAPER SHEET HANDLING METHOD
A paper sheet handling machine (for example, a banknote handling machine (10)) includes: a storage unit (for example, an escrow unit (20), banknote storages (30), a banknote storage cassette (40)) configured to store a paper sheet transported from a transport unit (16); and a shifting unit (19) provided in the transport unit (16) and configured to shift the paper sheet transported by the transport unit (16), in a width direction orthogonal to a direction in which the paper sheet is transported, according to a position, in the width direction, of a specific member (for example, a tape (136) in the escrow unit (20), a pair of feed rollers of a banknote feeding mechanism (32, 42) provided in the banknote storages (30), a banknote storage cassette (40)) in the storage unit.
Device for feeding papers
A paper feeding device comprises a storage surface for a stack of papers and being adapted to be move vertically between a first, lower end position and a second, upper end position, and a feeding roll for feeding papers from their position on the storage surface and imparting an uppermost sheet of paper a horizontal displacement. A first mounting device comprises a first vertically movable, preferably pivotable housing adapted to mount or suspend a first end of the feeding roll, and a second mounting device comprises a second vertically movable, preferably pivotable housing adapted to mount or suspend a second end of the feeding roll opposite to the first end of the feeding roll. By providing the first and second housings pivotable independently of each other and an intermediate axle, the feeding roll adapts to a non-uniform stack of papers, improving the reliability of the feeding.
Method for increasing the capacity of high capacity feeder trays for uneven stock
A method for feeding uneven media from a high capacity feeder includes rotating the pages in a stack 180 every 100-250 pages. This is only done with non-flat pages, such as, envelopes, pages with labels thereon, etc., which create tilted stacks and limit the number of pages that can be placed in the high capacity feeder. Rotating the pages 180 distributes the uneven build-up of the pages and creates a relatively flat stack, allowing the high capacity feeder to be filled to capacity. A camera or sensor placed in the high capacity feeder will detect the orientation of the stack on the fly so the image can be rotated accordingly.
Sheet feeding apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet feeding apparatus includes a stacking portion, a lifting portion, a feeding portion, and a control portion. The sheet feeding apparatus further includes a first height detecting portion configured to output a signal corresponding to a position in a height direction of the topmost sheet of sheets stacked on the stacking portion, a sheet presence detecting portion configured to output a signal corresponding to presence or absence of the sheets stacked on the stacking portion, and a second height detecting portion configured to output a signal corresponding to a position in a height direction of the stacking portion. The control portion performs control for sheet feeding operation using the signal from the sheet presence detecting portion if the position of the stacking portion is above a predetermined height based on the signal from the second height detecting portion and, if the position of the stacking portion is below the predetermined height, the control portion performs control for sheet feeding operation not using the sheet presence detecting portion.
