Image forming apparatus to control rotational speed of a roller
An image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit, a fixing unit, and a control unit. The transfer unit transfers a toner image onto a sheet. The fixing unit fixes the toner image onto the sheet and includes a roller. The control unit controls a roller rotational speed. Where both a first loop amount of the sheet at one side in a width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction and a second loop amount of the sheet at the other side in a width direction are within a predetermined range, the control unit switches a roller rotational speed for controlling a loop amount of the sheet between the transfer unit and the fixing unit. Where either the first or second loop amount is not within the predetermined range, the control unit sets the roller rotational speed into a predetermined speed without switching the roller rotational speed.

TRANSPORT GUIDE DRIVE MECHANISM, PAPER SHEET TRANSPORT DEVICE, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PAPER SHEET TRANSPORT DEVICE, AND PAPER SHEET HANDLING DEVICE
The present invention provides a transport guide drive mechanism that corrects the transport state in a paper sheet transport device including a wide transport surface that can be used in common for paper sheets with different width dimensions, to a normal state while preventing a deformation or a damage of the paper sheets during continuous and unintermittent transport. The transport guide drive mechanism includes transport guides 310 that are arranged along both side edges of a transport surface 11 in a width direction to oppose each other and that respectively guide both side edges of a paper sheet to be transported, an advancing/retreating mechanism 350 that causes the transport guides to synchronously protrude and retract in a predetermined direction, stoppers 440 each of which defines a protruded position where an associated one of the transport guides 310 is most protruded from the transport surface 11 and a retracted position retracted from the protruded position toward the transport surface, and a DC motor 450 that drives the advancing/retreating mechanism 350.

When discharging a sheet onto a discharge tray, a control unit sets position of the discharge tray in an up and down direction to a predetermined discharge position. When loading the sheet onto a processing tray, the control unit sets the position of the discharge tray in the up and down direction to a loading position lower than the discharge position.

The sheet discharge device includes a sheet discharge port, a discharge member, a sheet discharge tray, a support member, a drive mechanism, and a controller. The discharge member conveys sheets in a discharge direction. On the sheet discharge tray, the sheets discharged from the sheet discharge port are to be stacked. The support member is movable by the drive mechanism between a projective position in which the support member is projected to above the sheet discharge tray so as to support the sheets, and a retractive position in which the support member has retracted from the projective position to an upstream side of the sheet discharge port. The controller is enabled to adjust at least one of a projective length of the support member in its projective position and a shift timing from the projective position to the retractive position in response to characteristics of the sheets.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a sheet feeding portion, a discharge portion, a sheet conveyance passage, a branch conveyance passage, a conveyance guide, and a pair of assist rollers. The conveyance guide forms part of the conveyance surface of the sheet conveyance passage at the intersection between the sheet conveyance passage and the branch conveyance passage. The pair of assist rollers conveys a recording medium along the sheet conveyance passage. The conveyance guide is supported to be swingable about a swing axis in a direction in which it retracts from the conveyance surface of the sheet conveyance passage. One of the pair of assist rollers is fixed to a shaft extending parallel to the swing axis and is rotatably supported on the conveyance guide.
RECORDING DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A recording device includes: a conveying mechanism; a recording unit; and a controller. The conveying mechanism selectively conveys a first sheet-shaped medium and a second sheet-shaped medium. The controller performs, based on a recording command, recording processing in which the conveying mechanism is caused to convey the sheet-shaped medium from one of a first and a second accommodation portions. The recording unit is caused to record an image on the sheet-shaped medium. The controller does not cause the recording unit to record the image in one or both of a case where accommodation portion information regarding an accommodation portion included in the recording command indicates the first accommodation portion and medium information regarding the sheet-shaped medium included in the recording command indicates the second sheet-shaped medium, and a case where the accommodation portion information indicates the second accommodation portion and the medium information indicates the first sheet-shaped medium.
