A core for winding yarn can include an oblong hollow body and a laser-cut structure disposed through a portion of a wall of the hollow body adjacent to an end of the hollow body. A method of cutting a core for winding yarn can include providing a core comprising an oblong hollow body, and irradiating a wall of the hollow body with a laser beam to form a laser-cut structure. A method of winding yarn can include placing a core on a winding mandrel, placing a tail of a length of yarn through a laser-cut structure of the core, and spinning the core to wind the length of yarn around the core. A bobbin can include yarn wound around a core including a laser-cut structure.

Core forming support of a paper reel

A core intended to support a reel of paper, particularly toilet paper, is formed by winding at least one web of cellulose wadding. The core is formed by winding at least one web of cellulose wadding having at least 0.51 g of water-soluble material per gram of cellulose wadding, the water-soluble material being designed to make the web of cellulose wadding more rigid and easier to disintegrate. Thus configured, the core that has both mechanical strength fit for the intended purpose and is far easier to disintegrate than a core mad of cardboard such that it can be disposed of directly in a toilet bowl without the risk of blocking the waste pipe.

Spool Assembly And Method Of Assembly

A spool configured to support a roll of material. The spool comprises an arbor, a first flange, and a second flange. The first flange includes a first plurality of flange panels that are rotatably connected to respective arbor panels of the arbor at a first arbor edge of the arbor. The second flange is connected to a second arbor edge of the arbor. The first flange is configured to transition between a retention configuration and an open configuration. In the retention configuration, the roll of material is substantially prevented from removal from the arbor along an arbor axis by the first and second flanges. In the open configuration, the roll of material is removable from the arbor and receivable on the arbor in the arbor direction.

Cable retainers for cables are disclosed. The cable retainers may include a panel having a pair of loop locks. The loop locks may engage each other to form a loop. The cable retainer may include a first and a second retention loop. Each retention loop may have a finger with a slot formed at a fold line of the finger. Each retention loop may also have a flap with a tab formed at a fold line of the flap. The finger and the flap of the first retention loop may be located directly across the panel from one another. The finger of the second retention loop may be located at a first end of the panel while the flap of the second retention loop may be located at a second end of the panel. The tabs and slots of each retention loop may interlock to form a rectangular cable passage. The cable may also include a reinforcement structure disposed in a retention loop. The reinforcement structure may be stepped reinforcement structure. The cable retainer may be formed entirely of paper and may be formed without and adhesive.

Convolute winding of paper cores
12049381 · 2024-07-30 · ·

A method for producing a convolute paper core of a desired width and thickness, the method including unwinding paper from a paper roll, thereby creating unwound paper, conveying the unwound paper to a cutting position in a feeding direction, cutting the unwound paper, thereby creating a paper sheet having a length L, conveying the paper sheet from the cutting position to a mandrel in a winding direction, wherein the winding direction is perpendicular to the feeding direction, adhesively and convolutely winding the paper sheet on the mandrel so as to produce a paper core, so that a width W of the paper core is equal to the length L, and repeating the steps of unwinding, conveying, cutting, conveying and adhesively and convolutely winding a plurality of paper sheets until the paper core has the desired thickness.

CORRUGATED CABLE DISPENSER
20190023521 · 2019-01-24 ·

The present disclosure describes methods of manufacture and implementations of cable storage and dispensing systems combining the advantages of reel-based systems and box-based systems. The present system may be manufactured entirely out of corrugated cardboard or similar materials, reducing expense and weight compared to systems with wood, plastic, or metal reels or flanges, and adding recyclability in a single paper-based waste stream. The system may dispense cable in the same manner as reel-based systems, reducing tangling and aiding installation and deployment compared to box-based systems that do not utilize reels or spools. The system does not require the use of reel stands or other external components, and may be light and portable.

Cable spool assembly

A spool assembly includes a drum having a first axial end and an oppositely disposed second axial end. The drum includes an inner surface that defines a bore that extends through the first and second axial ends. A drum support is disposed in the bore of the drum. The drum support includes a first end and an oppositely disposed second end. The drum support has an exterior surface. The exterior surface of the drum support and the inner surface of the drum define a plurality of channels. A first flange is engaged to the first end of the drum support. A second flange is engaged to the second end of the drum support.
