An elevator control system for controlling a plurality of elevators in an elevator bank includes a processor in communication with a non-transitory memory, and a networking device. The processor executes software instructions that cause the elevator control system to receive an elevator call placed by at least one of a user and a mobile device of the user. The elevator control system wirelessly communicates with the mobile device to determine an elevator criteria set by the user on the mobile device via an elevator control application. The elevator criteria comprises a preference and a requirement. The software instructions allow the processor to determine whether an elevator in the elevator bank meets the requirement and the preference, and an elevator that meets at least the requirement is automatically assigned to the user.

An elevator group management system includes: a hall call registration device which is provided at a first hall; a hall destination call registration device which is provided at a second hall; a notification device which is provided at the first hall; an assigned car display device which is provided at the second hall; and a group management control device which selects a priority car from among a plurality of cars. When a priority car is selected, the group management control device performs, with respect to a hall call to which the priority car is already assigned, hall call control which differs from control with respect to a hall destination call to which the priority car is already assigned.

An elevator group management system includes: a hall call registration device which is provided at a first hall; a hall destination call registration device which is provided at a second hall; a notification device which is provided at the first hall; an assigned car display device which is provided at the second hall; and a group management control device which selects a priority car from among a plurality of cars. When a priority car is selected, the group management control device performs, with respect to a hall call to which the priority car is already assigned, hall call control which differs from control with respect to a hall destination call to which the priority car is already assigned.

Call information can be used for scheduling runs of elevators in a group of elevators. The scheduling is done so that based on the call allocations a schedule of expected movements, accelerations and decelerations can be computed. Then the movements, accelerations and decelerations may be controlled in order to improve energy efficiency or for controlling the movement in such manner that the energy consumption peaks or duration of these peaks is reduced.

When a specific destination floor call is made, the control unit assigns an elevator of which waiting time is within the reference time from the plurality of elevators to the specific destination floor call, the waiting time being a time from a time when the specific destination floor call is made to a time when the specific user can get on an elevator at the specific floor. Further, when a general destination floor call is made, the control unit assigns one of the plurality of elevators in response to the general destination floor call such that an elevator of which waiting time to the specific destination floor call that is made after the general destination floor call is within the reference time is left.

In an elevator system in which a plurality of cars are operated in a coupled or independent manner in a single hoistway, an elevator group-control device includes a front-car car-call detection unit detecting a car call of a front car with respect to its traveling direction out of the plurality of cars or for detecting a floor and a car that are assigned a destination floor of a registered destination floor call; and a rear-car assignment-candidate exclusion unit excluding, from assignment candidate cars, a rear car in the same hoistway as the front car assigned the car call when a landing call for the same direction as the traveling direction is registered at a floor registered by the car call detected by the front-car car-call detection unit.

The invention relates to a disk brake system for hoisting machines and winches, equipped with at least two brake circuits, wherein to each brake circuit at least one brake caliper with associated brake pads is allocated, and wherein two redundant, active control circuits (10, 12, 14, 16) are provided per brake circuit.

A method for determining the parameters connected to the run times of elevators and for using said parameters in the control of the elevators in an elevator system includes selecting a plurality of floor pairs from a plurality of floors served by the elevators; measuring runs between the selected floor pairs with one or more elevators; registering run events connected to the measured runs; determining, on the basis of the run events, a plurality of run time parameters connected to the run times; and controlling the elevators based on the aforementioned run time parameters when the elevators are in transport operation.

An exemplary elevator passenger interface device includes a passenger communication component that facilitates communications between a passenger and an elevator system. Such communications include passenger input to request elevator service and information provided to the passenger. A controller controls the passenger communication component to control its functionality including providing selected information to the passenger. The controller includes a customization module configured to change the functionality of the passenger communication component responsive to authorized user input that is distinct from the passenger input. The authorized user input includes a selection of at least one of a feature used to present information to a passenger or a feature used to allow a passenger to request elevator service.

A method for allocating elevators in an elevator system, the elevator system including a group control system responsive to hall calls received from call input devices, and elevator-specific elevator controllers configured to control elevators based on commands issued by the group control system, wherein the method including generating a number of route alternatives based on calls active; calculating, by the elevator controllers, elevator-specific cost terms associated with the route alternatives; transmitting, by the elevator controllers, the cost terms to the group control system; and allocating, by the group control system, the hall calls to the elevators according to the route alternative giving the lowest allocation cost.
