Method of configuring an elevator system

A method of configuring an elevator system (1), includes positioning a wireless communication device (4, 4) on or within an elevator car (2). When the elevator car (2) is in the vicinity of a landing floor (8a) of the elevator system (1), the wireless communication device (4, 4) transmits data comprising a unique identification code, or part thereof (26, 44) to a landing fixture (10a, 12a, 14a, 16a, 18a) on the landing floor (8a). The landing fixture (10a, 12a, 14a, 16a, 18a) receives the data. The method further includes, based on the received data, the landing fixture (10a, 12a, 14a, 16a, 18a) storing the unique identification code (44).

Method and data network for communicating data content, in particular in an elevator system
12479692 · 2025-11-25 · ·

A method and a data network for communicating data content, particularly useful in an elevator system, includes a master unit and a plurality of slave units that are connected to one another via data communication paths to exchange data telegrams having a large number of bits between one another. The master unit and the slave units are connected in series to form a chain via the data communication paths wherein a data telegram is transmitted from the master unit to a last slave unit on an outward data path. The last slave unit initiates a data return path by returning the data telegram to the master unit. The data telegram is modified by the slave units exclusively during the data return path and at least one slave unit begins to compile information requested by the master unit immediately after receiving and evaluating the data telegram.

Method for Communicating with an Elevator System by Means of a Mobile Terminal

A method for communicating with an elevator system utilizes a mobile terminal. The method includes steps of: sending a request from the mobile terminal to the elevator system or to an elevator controller of the elevator system; generating a coded light signal by a control panel that is arranged outside an elevator shaft in response to the request; detecting the coded light signal by the mobile terminal; sending a confirmation to the elevator system that the coded light signal has been detected; and authorizing the mobile terminal to communicate with the elevator system.

PASSENGER CONVEYOR SYSTEM THAT MONITORS STATUS OF CONTROLLER OPERATING SYSTEM AND PUSHES UPDATES TO SAME

A passenger conveying system for confirming a status of an operating system of a device controller of a passenger conveyor, having: a maintenance system; a maintenance controller coupled to the device controller via a first network and to the maintenance system via a second network, wherein the maintenance controller is configured to: transmit a first signal to the device controller utilizing one or more of a plurality of protocols to identify the communication capabilities of the device controller; transmit a second signal including current parameters of the operating system to the maintenance system, upon receiving a responsive signal from the device controller, to determine the status of an operating system; and issue an alert to the maintenance system after failing to receive a responsive signal from the device controller.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UPDATING CODE IN PASSENGER CONVEYANCE SYSTEMS

An elevator system for installing updated code on elevator components in a building, the system having: a component management system (CMS); an elevator system controller (ESC) in the building, operationally coupled to the components; a gateway that communicates with the ESC and the components over a first network and with the CMS over a second network, wherein the gateway is configured to: receive a first signal from the CMS that includes a notification of the updated code for the components; receive a second signal from the ESC that includes instructions for a preliminary installation of the updated code, and thereafter execute the preliminary installation; and receive a third signal from the ESC that includes instructions for a secondary installation of the updated code on the components, and thereafter execute the secondary installation.
