An interface device for controlling displaying of a destination call includes an input configured to receive input information comprising a passenger ID, a controller entity, configured to retrieve the destination call corresponding to the passenger ID, and at least one display configured to display the retrieved destination call. An elevator system and a method for controlling displaying of a destination call include the interface device.

A method for operating an elevator including operating the elevator in a pre-programmed sequence to stop at pre-designated floors in a predetermined order, upon receipt of an indication that a user at a given floor wishes to ride the elevator, temporarily not performing part of the pre-programmed sequence in order to arrive at the given floor with minimum delay and thereafter, in the absence of another indication that a user wishes to ride the elevator, continuing to temporarily not perform part of the pre-programmed sequence in order to arrive at a pre-designated egress floor with minimum delay and thereafter operating the elevator in the pre-programmed sequence including performing the part of the pre-programmed sequence to stop at pre-designated floors at pre-programmed times until receipt of an indication that a user at a given floor wishes to ride the elevator.

A method for operating an elevator installation includes receiving a destination call of a passenger at a control unit and selecting an elevator car from a set of available elevator cars for transporting the passenger. The elevator car is selected such that elevator car spacing rules are observed. The method further includes determining an arrival time of the selected elevator car at the boarding floor, and determining a first arrival time of the passenger at an elevator landing corresponding to the selected elevator car on the boarding floor. The method includes directing, under the proviso that the first arrival time of the passenger at the elevator landing precedes the arrival time of the selected elevator car by a defined margin, the passenger to a waiting zone of a set of available waiting zones. The waiting zone is selected such that waiting zone spacing rules are observed.

Methods and systems for making elevator service requests in a building having an elevator system, the method including, determining a departure floor, populating, by a computing device comprising a processor, a destination floor list with at least one destination floor and displaying the destination floor list on a user device, the destination floor list limited to a subset of all possible destination floors, and receiving at least one user input indicating a selection of a destination floor by a user and indicating a new elevator service request based on the determination of a departure floor and the selection of a destination floor. The method also includes generating an elevator service request packet based on the new elevator service request and transmitting the elevator service request packet to an elevator controller to make an elevator service request.

An elevator request authorization system is provided and includes a second server configured to grant an elevator use token upon request from a first server registerable with the second server for establishing secure communications between the second server and the first server. The first server is configured to be receptive of an elevator request relating to elevator usage by a user, to authenticate the user, to authorize the elevator usage by the user to which the elevator request relates, to request the elevator use token from the second server via the secure communications upon authentication and authorization and to deliver the elevator use token to the user upon receipt.

At least one input terminal is mounted for acquiring destination call signals and a group computer is installed in the course of the modernization process. The group computer is suitable for evaluation of the destination call signals as well as for the output of at least one first control signal. For each elevator furthermore a respective control unit is installed for reading in the first control signal and a control module is installed at the respective car for issuing an internal call for the respective car initiated by the first control signal.

A method for operating an elevator installation, the installation including an elevator control device, uses a mobile radio to perform operator control actions for the elevator installation. The mobile radio receives relevant data allowing indirect access to the elevator installation initially in the form of an identification code that is transmitted continuously or regularly by a transmission unit associated with the elevator installation.

Each of a plurality of cars includes an in-car notification device configured to receive an announcement command from one of the individual car control devices, to thereby execute an announcement of the name of its own car. Provided is an elevator system capable of protecting the privacy of users. The elevator system includes: a plurality of in-car communication devices provided in a plurality of respective cars; and a group management device configured to, when an in-car communication device in a car that has arrived at a hall receives identification information from a portable terminal by wireless communication and when the car is not a car to which a call has been allocated on the basis of input from the portable terminal corresponding to the identification information, cause the in-car communication device in the car to transmit information indicating that a user has gotten on a wrong car to the portable terminal by wireless communication.
