The method includes obtaining and presenting a primary elevator car assignment associated with a destination request, obtaining and presenting a secondary potential elevator car assignment associated with the destination request, and receiving information associated with a user selection related to at least one of the primary elevator car assignment and secondary potential elevator car assignment. The method also includes requesting, by the user device, a modification of the primary elevator car assignment if the information associated with a user selection indicates a modification is desired by the user; otherwise, continuing with the primary elevator car assignment.

A method of operating an elevator call control system including: receiving an first elevator call from a first individual carrying a first mobile device, the first elevator call including a destination request to travel from a first boarding floor to a destination floor; assigning a first elevator car to the first elevator call; detecting a location of the first mobile device; detecting a location of a second mobile device; and determining that a second individual carrying the second mobile device intends to board the first elevator car with the first individual carrying the first mobile device in response to determining the location of the first mobile device and the location of the second mobile device.

Disclosed is an elevator system in a building having a plurality of levels with a respective plurality of lobbies, including a first level and a second level having a respective first lobby and second lobby, the system including: an elevator car and a controller that controls the elevator car and communicates over a network with a device for a passenger seeking elevator service at the first lobby, wherein the controller: generates statistical data of elevator usage from dynamically updated accounting of elevator calls from the passenger, renders a first determination from the statistical data that the passenger will request first elevator service at the first lobby, and transmits a first communication to the device that includes instructions to display the first determination for the passenger.

The computer executable components can comprise a prediction component that can predict a current destination of an elevator passenger based on historical elevator usage data of the elevator passenger. The computer executable components can further comprise an assignment component that can assign the elevator passenger to an elevator based on the current destination.

Disclosed is an elevator system for a building, the system including a first elevator for transporting a passenger with a first mobile device between a plurality of lobbies, the system comprising a controller that communicates with the first mobile device renders a plurality of determinations including: a first determination that the passenger is seeking to engage a tenant, whom is a building tenant, a second determination to provide directional information between a current location of the passenger and a first lobby on the first level, a third determination to assign the first elevator to transport the passenger from the first lobby to a second lobby on the second level to engage the tenant, the controller being configured to effect a plurality of transmissions including: a first transmission to the first mobile device to effect the second determination, and a second transmission to the first elevator to effect the third determination.

An elevator system (2) comprises an elevator car (10) configured for traveling along a hoistway (4) between a plurality of landings (8); and at least one passenger sensor (20) provided at least one of the landings (8). The at least one passenger sensor (20) is configured for detecting passengers (26) being present within a predefined detection zone (28) at the respective landing (8) by detecting a detection signal (30b) reflected by a reflecting building structure (22, 24) of the respective landing (8), and for providing a corresponding sensor signal.

A method for operating a multi-car elevator system having a shaft system with at least one lift shaft, a plurality of elevator cars that can be moved individually in the shaft system, and a control system. Data about the cars is provided at time intervals. When the provision of data relating to a first car fails, a shaft position of said first car is determined. A quarantine section of the shaft system is determined, in which the first car is located by means of the determined shaft position, and the determined quarantine section is blocked for the other cars of the system. The invention further relates to a multi-car elevator system configured for the implementation of such a method.
