TRAILER MOUNTED CAPSTAN WINCH
A portable winch system includes a frame, a pair of wheels, a motor that is secured to the frame; and a capstan that is secured to the frame and that is rotatable via the motor. A rope is wound about the capstan in a manner that enables a user to grasp a tail end of the rope and induce friction between the capstan and the portion of the rope that is wound about the capstan. A tow end of the rope is attachable to an object to be pulled by the winch. An input guide attached to the frame is configured to receive the rope and direct the rope toward the capstan as the object is pulled toward the winch. An alignment guide attached to the frame is configured to contact the rope and align the rope about the capstan as the rope is wound about the capstan.
Cable-cutting unit for a cable winch, cable-cutting system for a cable winch and method for operating a cable-cutting unit for a cable winch
A cable-cutting unit for a cable winch has at least one cable-cutting device for cutting a cable running through the cable-cutting unit, and also comprises a slide as well as a housing with a cable channel for guiding the cable running through the cable-cutting unit, wherein the cable-cutting device is, or can be, arranged on the slide and the slide is, or can be, arranged on the housing such that it can be displaced, transversely to the cable channel, between a first position and a second position.
Line gripping winch drum
A winch drum is disclosed. In a first aspect, a first set of teeth are positioned around an outer perimeter of a drum. The first set of teeth taper from a first crown to a first base. A second set of teeth are positioned around the outer perimeter of the drum. The second set of teeth taper from a second crown to a second base. The second set of teeth are offset from the first set of teeth such that a gap between the first bases and the second bases forms a sinusoidal channel for a line to follow the first set of teeth and the second set of teeth becomes a guide for the line so that the line can engage the sinusoidal channel. The line follows the sinusoidal channel and each change of direction along the sinusoidal path causes the line to engage by friction with the first bases and the second bases. In a second aspect, the drum includes a trough that follows a sinusoidal path and wherein the trough is narrower at its bottom than at its top.
Pool protection system
Pool protection systems are disclosed. In one particular embodiment, a pool protection system may include a platform fitted in a pool, oriented substantially parallel to a surface of water in the pool, and configured to move vertically in the pool; one or more motors mechanically connected to the platform; and a controller in communication with the one or more motors.
Cable pulling device
A cable pulling device (1) having a capstan (6) extending from one side of a housing (11) that attaches to a boom (10) of a backhoe (5) via a quick coupling (8). The capstan is located on an external side of the housing in an offset and exposed manner that allows a rope (19) to be wrapped over and/or around the capstan. By pulling on the rope, an operator is able to control tension on the capstan, thereby allowing the capstan to provide a pulling force on the cable or one or more electrical wires being pulled through the conduit.
ROPE DRUM SYSTEM
A rope drum for drawing and releasing a rope under tensile stress. Support segments are arranged to provide a number of grip sections for supporting the rope through the grip sections as a continuous spiral surrounding the rotated drum part by at least two rounds so that, when the drum part is rotated, a number of grip sections move due to the guidance of the support segments along the drum part depending on the rotation direction of the drum part towards the first end of the drum part or towards the second end. Prevention grooves or ridges together with the support segments restrict the movement of the grip sections supporting the rope on the drum part with regard to the drum part in the direction of the perimeter to a maximum that is defined by the mutual geometry of the prevention grooves and ridges and the support means.
PORTABLE POWER-DRIVEN SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a portable power-driven system for advancing a rope, wherein the portable power-driven system is provided with a specifically designed dual-function cover member provided for improving operational safety of the portable power-driven system.
Portable drill puller
A puller in accordance with some example embodiments includes a frame and a capstan rotatably mounted on the frame. The capstan has a body having an angled wall portion and a movable end wall. A boom is mounted to the frame and has a head at an end thereof which can be positioned in a variety of positions.
