Fishing tackle retrieval device
10219504 · 2019-03-05 ·

A fishing tackle retrieval device for freeing snagged fishing tackle includes a ring that is oblong, thus defining a narrow end and a wide end. A bar is coupled to the ring proximate to the wide end. A loop is coupled to the bar distal from the ring and extends curvedly from the bar, defining a free end that is positioned proximate to the bar. The free end and the bar define a slit in the loop. A cut is positioned through the ring proximate to the narrow end. A coupler, configured to couple to a retrieval line, is coupled to and positioned on the wide end. A notch is positioned in the ring at the narrow end. The notch is configured to couple to a fishing line-leader connection as the ring is pulled toward the surface, such that the fishing tackle is disengaged from the obstruction.

FISHING APPARATUS
20180235200 · 2018-08-23 ·

A generally elongate fishing apparatus having an aperture and a slot of sufficient width to allow a fishing line introduced into the slot to enter the aperture, the fishing apparatus further including a necked portion adjacent to a distal end that is adjacent to the aperture. A fisherman can avoid unwanted discomfort by introducing a fishing line into the aperture through the slot, wrapping the fishing line around the necked portion and by then gripping and pulling a handle portion of the fishing apparatus to pull tension into the fishing line to, for example, pull the fishing line free of an underwater obstruction or debris or to pull a fish captured on a hook on and end of the fishing line towards a boat, pier or dock and within a sufficient proximity for the fisherman to use a net to lift the fish from the water.

A tip for a fishing lure retrieval apparatus includes a tip body having an outer peripheral surface extending longitudinally between first and second tip body ends. The tip body is structured for threaded engagement with an extension handle, and includes a resilient appendage attached to the tip body at a location that is axially between the first tip body end which attaches to the handle, and the second tip body end. The resilient appendage may include a coil spring that projects from the outer peripheral surface and has formed therein slots distributed successively along the resilient appendage to receive a fishing line at a range of locations relative to the tip body.

A device for assisting a fisherman in retrieving stranded or snagged fishing lures that can be attached to the end of a fishing rod is described and taught. The device has a number of mechanisms of attachment to prevent the device from parting with the fishing rod during the retrieval process. On one end of the device is a component that has a cutting surface with a magnet located in a proximity thereto. The fishing lure is attracted to the magnet, adhering it to the device. The fishing line can then be cut using the cutting surface. Thus, the fishing lure is quickly freed without damaging the fishing tackle or causing bodily injury. The device can then be removed and the fishing lure retied to the fishing line.

A device for retrieving the snagged fishing lure when fishing from a boat and from the shore when the snagged lure is both close to and far from the fisherman, especially when the angle of inclination to the lure is small. The hydrodynamic, slim, elongated, and cylindrical device has a sleekly tapered front part, a rear part, a hooking plate inclined at an acute angle with respect to the rear part, a center of gravity shifted towards the front of the device, two attachment rings to attach the device to the line simply, quickly, easily and reliably, while the contact of the device with the line is minimal. When the device is attached to the fishing line extending to the snagged lure, the line is inserted into the funnel-shaped notch of the hooking plate, and when the fishing rod is raised, the device slides down the line to the lure and bounces it off the obstacle. If the lure is not released, the device shall be pulled back towards the fisherman by the retrieval cord attached to the end of the device, while the device follows the tensioned fishing line, until the connecting element that connects the leader with the fishing line is trapped in the passage of the hooking plate and the lure is released from the obstacle by force.
