A forklift linkage system (100) for movement has a levelling carriage assembly (110) movably contained within a channel assembly (120). A main long link pivotally connects to the levelling carriage assembly (110) at a first pivot point (111) and a fork carriage assembly (150) at a second pivot point (151). A short link (140) pivotally connects near a midpoint (131) of the main long link (130) at a third pivot point (121) and at a fixed pivot point (121) relative to the channel (120), near a vertical offset position from the pivot point of the main long link (130) to the levelling carriage assembly (110) at a fourth pivot point (112). A levelling link (160) pivotally connects to the levelling carriage assembly (110) at a fifth pivot point (151) and at the opposite end to a fork carriage assembly (150) at a sixth pivot point, such that the travel path of the second pivot point (151) connecting the main long link (130) to the fork carriage assembly (150) remains substantially perpendicular to the channel (120) when the linkage system (100) is moved between retracted and extended positions. The angle through the second pivot point (151) connects the main long link (130) to the fork carriage assembly (150). The sixth pivot point (152) connects the levelling link (160) to the fork carriage assembly (150) substantially constant in relation to the channel (120) when the linkage system (100) is moved between retracted and extended positions.

The tines can be positioned to move horizontally, inward or outward, along a guide, according to actuation of the linear electric actuators. The loading area comprising the tines can be positioned to move vertically, upward or downward, along masts or uprights of the forklift. The actuators for the tines can be operated by a battery. When the tines are in the down position, the battery can be charged by a charging system that includes a part fixed to the forklift. However, when the forks are raised from the down position, vertically along the masts or uprights, the charging ceases, and the actuators can continue to operate from the battery.

A materials handling vehicle is provided comprising a pair of forks to be inserted in a longitudinal direction of the forks into a pallet having one or more stringers. A pallet clamp device is provided including first and second operating devices, one mounted in each fork for actuating respective punch members into engagement with an adjacent surface on the pallet. Each operating device comprises a module located within a cavity in one of the forks, the module including an actuator, one of the respective punch members, and a linkage structure connecting the actuator and the respective punch member.

Lift and pallet

A pallet lift includes a pair of outer tines movable between an expanded position spaced outward away from inner tines and a retracted position adjacent the inner tines. The inner and outer tines are supported by wheels at locations spaced away from the lift mechanism. A pallet includes a plurality of nestable feet that open outwardly of the pallet to reduce the footprint. A second pallet includes a side wall extending downward from side edges of the pallet to define an opening adjacent outer feet.

Fork positioner with guided fork holder

A fork positioning assembly configured for mounting to a lift truck, comprising a first fork positioner and a second fork positioner coupled to a fork frame. The first fork positioner a substantially mirror image of the second fork positioner. Each fork positioner comprises a tube with an interior cavity within which is positioned a piston and a carrier both coupled to a rod. The piston and carrier are both in sliding contact with the tube. Each fork positioner has a fork holder positioned external to the tube, the fork holder coupled to the carrier through the slot in the tube. The portion of the carrier coupled to the fork holder is between a first carrier bushing and a second carrier bushing.
