CAST CONTACT PADS
A contact pad is provided having a load-engaging front surface and an oppositely-facing rear surface, preferably comprising a cast metal contact pad having at least one depression adjacent to the rear surface and a tile embedded within the depression such that the tile has an exposed surface, and a wear element on the exposed surface. A method for manufacturing a contact pad having a load-engaging front surface and an oppositely-facing rear surface preferably includes the steps of embedding a mild steel tile within a contact pad casting pattern such that, once embedded, the embedded tile has an exposed weldable surface, casting the contact pad from ductile cast iron and applying a wear element on the weldable surface.
Item manipulating and gathering method
A method of gathering at least one item from an area is provided. The method includes providing at least one grasping mechanism for capturing at least one item, gathering information regarding a first item, including information regarding the first item's orientation in the area, and determining whether the grasping mechanism is able to capture the first item from the area based on the information regarding the first item's orientation. The method further includes manipulating, via the grasping mechanism, the first item if necessary based on the information regarding the first item's orientation to ensure the first item is in an orientation in which the grasping mechanism is able to capture the first item from the area, and capturing the first item with the grasping mechanism and moving the first item to another area.
DEVICE FOR HANDLING TIRES
There is provided a device for handling tires having an anchor for attaching to a prime mover and a clamping device rotatably mounted to the anchor that rotates relative to the anchor about a rotation axis. The clamping device has a plurality of engagement members connected by a mechanical linkage and a carrying body with a plurality of guides. The weight distribution of the clamping device is balanced about the rotation axis. Each guide carries one of the engagement members and is oriented to allow the engagement members to move perpendicular to the rotation axis between clamping and release positions. The mechanical linkage includes a rotating actuator and controls movement of the engagement members along the guides. The movement of each engagement member is rotationally symmetric about the rotation axis relative to the movement of the other engagement members. The device has an actuator that actuates the mechanical linkage.
ADAPTER ASSEMBLY FOR LIFTING A VEHICLE
An adapter assembly for lifting a vehicle includes an adapter defining a first pin aperture, a second pin aperture, and an adapter aperture, a first pin, a second pin, and a cross member removably received by the adapter aperture. The first pin is configured to be removably received by the first pin aperture and a first aperture defined by a frame of the vehicle to selectively couple the adapter to the frame. The second pin is configured to be removably received by the second pin aperture and a second aperture defined by the frame of the vehicle to selectively couple the adapter to the frame.
RETENTION MECHANISM FOR AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
A retention mechanism for retaining an agricultural machine in engagement with a fork assembly. The mechanism may be provided on the fork assembly, agricultural machine or split between them. The retention mechanism may be actuated by a foot associated with either the fork assembly or the agricultural machine. The retention mechanism may employ pivoting latches or a clamping mechanism that clamps upon the forks or tines.

Fork head with gripping device and lateral movement
Fork head for gripping thin objects having a main frame attached to a mobile element on a lifting vehicle; a mobile frame, with two fixed, parallel arms and a gripping arm that moves from and towards the fork arms to trap a thin object hanging between the two fork arms, said mobile frame being able to move horizontally along a transversal guide attached to the main frame; wherein the gripping arm has end portions superimposed on the two arms of the frame and has a length (L) in a transversal direction equal to or greater than a fork width (w) defined by the distance between the opposite outer edges of the two fork arms.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOVING TRAILERS
A method and apparatus for moving trailers using a trailer moving apparatus coupled to a forklift is shown and described herein. The method and apparatus for moving trailers uses a trailer moving apparatus engagably coupled to a forklift when lifted off a surface with a plurality of hitches at different heights. The method for moving trailers using a trailer moving apparatus operatively coupled to a forklift tine via a guided channel on a channel member and not requiring an operator to leave the cabin of the forklift during operation.
