NOVEL TRITERPENE-GLYCOSIDES AS SWEETENERS OR SWEETENER ENHANCER
Suggested are triterpene-glycoside compounds, which are obtainable by the extraction of Gynostemma pentaphyllum which are useful as a sweetener or sweet taste enhancer in preparations and compositions, especially oral edible compositions.
METHOD FOR PREPARING LUO HAN GUO SWEETENING COMPOSITION FROM SIRAITIA GROSVENORII AND USE THEREOF
A method for preparing a Luo Han Guo sweetening composition from Siraitia grosvenorii and a use thereof. The method for extracting the sweetening composition from Siraitia grosvenorii preferably includes the followings: accelerating ripening of immature Siraitia grosvenorii, and performing juicing, extraction with pure water, removal of impurities, concentration and purification to obtain the sweetening composition. Further, the present application relates to a compound sweetener containing the sweetening composition, which can be widely used in foodstuffs, beverages, healthcare products, and daily chemicals. The contents of mogroside III, mogroside IIe, and the like in the Luo Han Guo sweetening composition are controlled so as to improve the flavor thereof, and a production process for the sweetening composition uses only pure water, without use of organic solvents such as ethanol, to ensure a greener and healthier production process.
BEER-TASTE BEVERAGE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A beer-taste beverage, containing a carbon dioxide-extracting product of a plant raw material containing coriander seeds. The present invention provides a beer-taste beverage which is capable of favorably providing a flavor of coriander seeds and a method for producing the same, which can provide a new taste as luxury products.
Composition comprising cinnamon extract
The invention concerns a composition for lowering the glycemic index comprising, or consisting of an alcoholic extract of cinnamon in an amount of at least 10% by weight compared to the total weight of the composition, and optionally a carrier, a food composition comprising a composition for lowering the glycemic index in an amount ranging from 0.1% to 5% by weight compared to the total weight of the food composition, the use of a composition for lowering the glycemic index or of a food composition as a glycemic index lowering agent.
PROCESS FOR ISOLATING TASTE-MODIFIERS
A process for isolating a taste-modifier component useful for food, beverage, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical applications is disclosed. A pulverized fruit- or vegetable-based feedstock is combined with a natural, edible solvent to produce a heterogeneous mixture. A liquid phase isolated from this mixture is contacted with an acidic ion-exchange resin to sequester a basic taste-modifier component. The resin is then treated with a dilute aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide to elute the taste-modifier component. The taste-modifier component, which is further activated by mild heating, is combined with vitamins, flavors, and other food additives and is incorporated into aqueous, oil-based, or powder-based taste-modifier compositions that have improved efficacy compared with previously known taste-modifiers.
