OPTICAL FLUID SENSORS FOR CROSS CONTAMINATION CONTROL SYSTEMS
An optical fluid sensor (OFS) is disclosed that includes a body defining a chamber and having one or more apertures to allow a fluid to enter the chamber, a light source optically coupled to the chamber and configured to emit light into the chamber, and a detector optically coupled to the chamber and configured to receive light from the chamber. The light source may emit IR, visible, and UV light into the chamber, and the detector may measure an intensity of one or more wavelengths of IR or visible light received by the detector. When fluid is disposed within the chamber, the light emitted by the light source may pass into and through the fluid disposed in the chamber before being received by the detector. A crossover protection system is also disclosed that includes an OFS for determining a transported liquid type.
CROSS CONTAMINATION CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH FLUID PRODUCT ID SENSORS
A crossover protection system including a product transport vehicle having a tank compartment for containing a liquid product, a fluid property sensor positioned to contact liquid product stored in the tank compartment, a system controller, and a valve coupled to the tank compartment. The valve regulates a flow of liquid product from the tank compartment and has a normally locked state. The system controller may compare a received transported liquid type signal from the fuel property sensor indicative of the type of liquid product in the tank compartment and compare the type of liquid product to a stored liquid product type. If the two types match, the crossover protection controller transitions the valve to an unlocked state to allow the liquid product to unload from the tank compartment. If the two types do not match, the crossover protection controller will disable the valve from transitioning to the unlocked state.
Refuelling system for motor vehicles
A refueling system for motor vehicles, that includes a motor vehicle with a first communication interface and with a control unit, as well as a refueling installation, a second communication interface, which has a communication connection to the first communication interface for the transmission of data, as well as a tank with a fuel. The refueling installation has a sensor device, which is equipped to determine a fuel material property of the fuel of the refueling installation and to transmit it to the motor vehicle, so that the control unit of the motor vehicle controls a vehicle component on the basis of the determined fuel material property.
Hydrocarbon condensate detection and control
Hydrocarbon condensate detection and control. The hydrocarbon condensate detection and control system includes detecting hydrocarbon in an aqueous mixture by sensing fluorescence, turbidity, and color of the aqueous mixture and controlling the flow of the aqueous mixture based on the hydrocarbon content of the aqueous mixture.
Product delivery systems for liquid product transport vehicles and methods of loading liquid products using the same
A product delivery system includes a product transport vehicle having at least a plurality of tank compartments, internal valves, control valves, fluid property sensors, temperature sensors, overfill sensors, pressure sensors, a system controller, and a memory module. The product delivery system may be operable to communicatively connect with the loading system at a loading station, a fleet management system, or a cloud system to obtain information, such as the amount of liquid product to be loaded into a tank compartment. The product delivery system may be operable to compare the volumes of the tank compartments with the amounts of liquid product to be loaded at a loading station and maintain the internal valve or control valve in a locked state or transition the internal valve or control valve to an unlocked state based on the comparison. Other comparisons based on liquid type or distribution tank volume can also be made.
Hydrocarbon condensate detection and control
Hydrocarbon condensate detection and control. The hydrocarbon condensate detection and control system includes detecting hydrocarbon in an aqueous mixture and controlling the flow of the aqueous mixture based on the hydrocarbon content of the aqueous mixture.
System and Method for Dispensing Fluid Cleanly Using Compression and Negative Pressure
A system and method for dispensing fluid from a reservoir cleanly using compression and negative pressure is disclosed. The system (herein referred to as System) is essentially comprised of a nozzle and a portable fluid jug (herein referred to as a reservoir). Two embodiments have a nozzle with a compression portion that when pushed against a tank neck allows fluid to flow from the reservoir. When the tank is full, fluid reaches the nozzle and blocks an internal vent line within the nozzle. This blockage builds negative pressure inside the reservoir, subsequently halting the flow of fluid through the nozzle. An object of the System is to allow fluid to flow quickly and cleanly into a fluid tank (such as those on vehicles, motor cycles, small engines, etc.) Other objects, details and embodiments of the System will be examined in further sections of this disclosure.
POSITION BASED SMART ELBOW CROSSOVER PROTECTION SYSTEM
A crossover protection system includes a processor, a memory, and machine readable instructions. The machine readable instructions cause the processor to determine a smart elbow position based on a signal output of a sensor of a smart elbow and determine whether the smart elbow position is within a geofence of a distribution tank including a same fuel type as a liquid product stored in a tank compartment. The processor further, in response to a determination that the smart elbow position is within the geofence of the distribution tank of the same fuel type as the liquid product, permits the liquid product to the distribution tank, and in response to a determination that the smart elbow position is outside the geofence of the distribution tank of the same fuel type as the liquid product, prevents the liquid product from flowing to the distribution tank.
