TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE NANO-FIBRE BASED MULTI-LAYER TEXTILE
A composite multi-layer textile, comprising at least one nanofibre layer with nanofibres with diameters below 100 nm and one support layer with microfibres with diameters below three microns, wherein the layers were produced by electrospinning. The multi-layer textile shows a general transmittance at #=550 nm greater than 60%, which shows improved properties concerning transparency, breathability and robustness. This is achieved in that the at least one nanofibre layer and the support layer are fused, forming solid domains in the multi-layer textile, at closed areas of a pattern used in the production process, wherein the solid domains are separated from each other or connected, showing defined shapes, with regular or irregular spatial distribution, while the fibre morphology of nanofibres of the nanofibre layer and microfibres of support layer is preserved on top of the open areas beside the solid domains, attaining a general transmittance greater than that given by the sum of the individual layers.
FILTER MEDIA INCLUDING ADHESIVES
Articles and methods involving filter media are generally provided. In certain embodiments, the filter media includes at least a first layer, a second layer, and an adhesive resin positioned between the first layer and the second layer. In some embodiments, the first layer may be a pre-filter layer or a support layer. The second layer may, for example, comprise fibers formed by a solution spinning process and/or may comprise fine fibers. In some embodiments, the adhesive resin may be present in a relatively low amount and/or may have a low glass transition temperature. The filter media as a whole may have one or more advantageous properties, including one or more of a high stiffness, a high bond strength between the first layer and the second layer, a high gamma, and/or a low increase in air resistance after being subjected to an IPA vapor discharge. The filter media may be, for example, a HEPA filter and/or an ULPA filter.
BIODEGRADABLE FILTERS
In order to address the sustainability and environmental issues associated with conventional HVAC filters, inventive HVAC filters have been developed that are completely biodegradable and compostable and exhibit Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) ratings that are superior to conventional HVAC filters. More particularly, it has been discovered that biodegradable electrospun nanofibers can be used to produce biodegradable HVAC filters that exhibit superior filtration performance relative to conventional HVAC filters produced from polypropylene electrostatic media or triboelectric nonwoven media.
WET NON-WOVEN FABRIC, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND WATER TREATMENT MEMBRANE CONTAINING WET NON-WOVEN FABRIC
Disclosed are a wet non-woven fabric, the use of the wet non-woven fabric as a supporting layer of a water treatment membrane, a method for preparing the wet non-woven fabric, and a water treatment membrane containing the wet non-woven fabric. The wet non-woven fabric has an average pore size of no greater than 20 .Math.m, a maximum pore size of no greater than 40 .Math.m, and a maximum pore size/average pore size ratio of no less than 1 and no greater than 12.
ARTICLE FOR INFECTION PREVENTION FOR FOMITE MATERIALS
An embodiment is an article configured to inhibit or prevent pathogen growth. The article includes an inner layer configured to face a wearer's skin when the face covering article is applied to the face of the wearer; a middle layer adjacent to the inner layer; and an outer protection layer adjacent to the middle layer and opposite the inner layer and comprising a substrate and metal particles in the substrate, wherein the metal particles are configured to inhibit or prevent pathogen growth.
RESPIRATOR MASK
The invention provides a respirator mask comprising a filter material piece made of an air-permeable material and at least one securing band, wherein the air-permeable material comprises at least one layer of a non-woven fabric and the layer of a non-woven fabric is creped, and wherein the at least one securing band is designed for securing the respirator mask to the head.
Method for producing a fibrous web containing polylactide fibres
A method for producing a fibrous web includes: (a) a fibrous ply containing polylactide fibers and, as necessary, other fibers are laid on a substrate in a random fiber arrangement, (b) initially a loose, pre-compressed nonwoven is created by applying a first pressure to the fibrous ply, the tear resistance of which nonwoven permits free bridging of a span between 0.1 m and 1 m before the nonwoven tears, (c) the pre-compressed nonwoven is then passed through the calender gap, wherein a pattern consisting of point or linear pressure zones is formed in the gap, with the fibers in the pressure zones being exposed to a second pressure, which is higher than the first pressure, and to a temperature such that the fibers fuse.
Self supporting pleatable web and an oil filter including the same
A fibrous media suitable for an oil filter comprising a fibrous web formed from synthetic fibers; optionally at least one additive, and a thermoset binder present at a concentration of at least 15 wt.-% by weight of the fibrous web and/or at least one binder fiber, wherein the synthetic fibers comprise up to 30 wt.-%, preferably up to 20 wt.-%, glass fibers, based on the total weight of the fibers. The fibers are bonded with the thermoset binder and/or the at least one binder fiber to form a web; and the fibrous media is capable of forming a self-supporting, pleated oil filter media which is capable of retaining pleats upon contact with oil having a temperature in the range encountered in a combustion engine.
GLASS FIBER FREE FILTER MEDIUM WITH A DENSIFIED LAYER MADE OF SYNTHETIC FIBERS
A multi-layered filter medium with a densified layer made of synthetic fibers is useful for filtering liquids. A method for its production involves providing multiple layers, densifying a layer, and joining the multiple layers.
FIBER FILAMENT NON-WOVEN FABRIC
The invention discloses a fiber filament non-woven fabric with a small pore size and a large porosity, which adopts an island type ultra-fine fiber single filament, which is juxtaposed into an unidirectional silk layer several times, and a thin strip-shaped liquid is applied laterally on the unidirectional silk layer. The resin adhesive liquid bonds and fixes all the silk layers into a unidirectional non-woven fabric fixed in a grid segment. The unidirectional non-woven fabric is covered with meltblown non-woven fabric on one or both sides to make a filter material that can 100% filter viruses, bacteria, and micro-particles smaller than PM2.5. It can also be used for a wider range of filter materials, thermal insulation materials, oil absorption materials, battery separator materials, medical and health materials, environmental protection materials, clothing materials, wiping materials.
