Paper-like and nanocomposite material based on mineral fiber

A paper-like nanocomposite material based on mineral fibers, which can be used as a capillary-porous element of evaporative-type air-cooling units. The material is made using glass fibers with a diameter of 0.4 m as mineral fibers and sodium aluminate and aluminum sulfate as a binder. The material is made on traditional papermaking equipment using casting technique with a specified ratio of the above components.

Waved filter media and elements

Various high performance, high efficiency filter media are provided that are cost effective and easy to manufacture. In particular, various filter media are provided having at least one layer with a waved configuration that results in an increased surface area, thereby enhancing various properties of the filter media. The filter media can be used to form a variety of filter elements for use in various applications.

VIRAL FILTRATION MEDIA, ARTICLES, AND METHODS

Viral filtration media, an article comprising the viral filtration media, and a method of filtering a virus-containing sample using the viral filtration media, wherein the viral filtration media comprises: a porous substrate comprising a surface having a polymer grafted thereto, wherein the grafted polymer comprises interpolymerized monomers comprising: a (meth)acrylic acid monomer: and, optionally, a poly (alkylene oxide) monomer.

PAPER-LIKE AND NANOCOMPOSITE MATERIAL BASED ON MINERAL FIBER

The paper-like nanocomposite material can be used as capillary-porous elements of evaporative-type air-cooling units. As mineral fibers, glass fibers with a diameter of 0.4 m are used. These fibers are hydrophilic; they do not swell and have a large specific surface area. As a binder, sodium aluminate and aluminum sulfate are used at a predetermined ratio.

The material is made on traditional papermaking equipment using casting technique with a specified ratio of the above components.

The technical result is the obtainment of a paper-like material having high properties in height and time of water rise, moisture capacity and strength. The material is also characterized by thermic, chemical and biological stability, absence of toxicity and zero emission of substances harmful to the human body into the air, resistance of its properties to the effects of mold, fungi and microorganisms in the aquatic environment.
