FILTER AND FILTER MEDIA FOR REMOVING ORGANIC ACID FROM WATER
Disclosed is a filter media for removing contaminants such as organic acids from water. The filter media comprises porous particles. The particles have a total pore volume greater than about 0.4 cc/g. The pore volume is primarily or substantially comprised of epipores, that is, pores that are larger than about 5 nm. The filter media may also include a non-porous filter material and a binder. The filter media may be formed into a filter element, with the binder joining particles of the filter media together into a solid body. The percentage of the total pore volume provided by epipores is greater than about 40%. The filter reduces an initial concentration of an organic acid by greater than 80% at a flux greater than 0.76 ml/min/cm.sup.2.
Multilayer filter screen and manufacturing method thereof
A multilayer filter screen and the manufacturing method thereof are provided. The multilayer filter screen includes a conductive powder layer and a plastic powder layer. The conductive powder layer and the plastic powder layer are stacked up through a solidifying process. Therefore, the mechanical structural strength and the anti-static electricity function of the multilayer filter screen are improved.
Filter apparatus for the treatment of hydrocarbon contaminated water
A filter apparatus for treating hydrocarbon contaminated water comprising a housing defining an internal cavity and having an inlet and an outlet; a separating member that separates the internal cavity into a first treatment zone and a second treatment zone, wherein the first treatment zone is in fluid communication with the inlet and the second treatment zone is in fluid communication with the outlet, the separating member having one or more holes therethrough for fluid flow from the first treatment zone to the second treatment zone; at least one distribution tube within the second treatment zone having an end enclosing at least one of the holes to accept liquid flowing through the hole, the distribution tube further having perforations along its length for distributing liquid into the second treatment zone; a filtration barrier within the first treatment zone for removing particulate matter from the liquid flowing therethrough; and a particulate filtration media within the second treatment zone, surrounding the distribution tube, comprising at least one polymer for removing hydrocarbons from the water flowing through the second treatment zone prior to exiting the outlet.
ECO-FRIENDLY WATER FILTRATION APPARATUS
An eco-friendly water filtration apparatus. The apparatus may comprise a lid comprising openings that allow water to flow into the apparatus, and an enclosure that is open at one end and comprises openings at the opposing end that allow water to flow out of the apparatus. The enclosure may be configured to receive a pod of activated carbon, while allowing removal of the pod, and the lid may be configured to attach to and detach from the enclosure at the enclosure's open end.
FILTER ELEMENT WITH HONEYCOMB BODY FOR AIR CLEANING
A filter element for adsorbing harmful gases from a fluid flow includes: a frame and a plurality of filter bodies arranged at a distance next to one another in the frame. A respective filter body has a plurality of openings. A respective filter body is connected to at least one other of the filter bodies via a respective contact element configured for electrical dissipation. The filter bodies are arranged in matrix form, the filter bodies are formed as honeycomb bodies, and/or the filter bodies comprise activated carbon.
WATER-PURIFICATION CARTRIDGE AND WATER PURIFIER
Provided is a water-purification cartridge to be replaceably accommodated in an accommodating portion of a water purifier. The cartridge includes activated carbon that removes impurities from water, forms, within the water purifier, a raw water flow path through which raw water flows downstream without passing through the activated carbon and a water purification flow path through which raw water flows downstream while passing through the activated carbon, and further includes a buffer portion that is disposed, within the water purifier, at a position upstream of flow path switching valves for selecting discharge from the raw water flow path or discharge from the water purification flow path and downstream of the activated carbon and that cuts off a water hammer propagating from the flow path switching valves to the activated carbon.
FILTER, FILTER ASSEMBLY, FILTER DEVICE AND WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
A filter for producing a water composition containing silicic acid and hydrogen gas includes a carrier material and a silicon material supported on the carrier material. The filter has a diameter ranging from 50 m to 10 mm. A filter assembly, a filter device, and a water purification system containing the filter are also provided.
Porous article having polymer binder sub-micron particle
The invention relates to a solid porous article containing sub-micron functional additive particles held together using discrete sub-micron polymer binder particles. The porous article preferably also contains a majority of primary active particles in the 1 to 300 micron range. The solid porous articles are used to separate, precipitate, and/or trap components of a fluid that passes through the porous article. The solid porous articles are used to separate and trap components of a fluid that passes through the porous article. Preferred binders are polyvinylidene fluoride resins, such as Kyblock resins from Arkema Inc.
WATER TREATMENT DEVICE
Provided concerns a device for treating water of the kind intended for treating running water from a domestic water supply system or other sources of pressurized water, to obtain filtered or treated water, for example, of drinking water quality.
