INJECTION LANCE ASEMBLY
An injection lance assembly for creating a higher degree of turbulence and dispersion of a treating agent into a fluid stream.
Device and method for treating flue gases
Device (10) for injecting powders into a furnace pipe (500), comprising a chamber (230) connected to a peripheral pipe (220) and, on the other hand, to the said furnace pipe via the said peripheral pipe (220), which comprises a first part (221) of diameter DP1, and a second part (222) of diameter DP2, having a downstream end (222a) and intended to be in communication with the furnace pipe, and a powder conveying pipe (120) which has a diameter DT and a downstream end (121), characterized in that the second part of the peripheral pipe has a length Lthe diameter (DP2) of the second part of the peripheral pipe, and in that the diameter (DT) and the diameter (DP2) are connected by the relationship 0<DP2DT< DT.
Composite material for air purification, preparation method therefor and application thereof
A composite material for purifying air includes a porous foam material which is an open-cell polyurethane foam net; and a mixture sprayed on the interior and/or the surface of the porous foam material, the mixture including an absorbent material, a treating agent and an adhesive; wherein the adsorptive material is diatomite, and the treating agent is alkali solution.
REDUCING MERCURY EMISSIONS FROM THE BURNING OF COAL BY REMOTE SORBENT ADDITION
Sorbent components containing halogen, calcium, alumina, and silica are used in combination during coal combustion to produce environmental benefits. Sorbents such as calcium bromide are added to the coal ahead of combustion and other components are added into the flame or downstream of the flame, preferably at minimum temperatures to assure complete formation of the refractory structures that result in various advantages of the methods. When used together, the components reduce emissions of elemental and oxidized mercury; increase the level of Hg, As, Pb, and/or Cl in the coal ash; decrease the levels of leachable heavy metals (such as Hg) in the ash, preferably to levels below the detectable limits; and make a highly cementitious ash product.
Process for energy recovery in carbon black production
A combustible gas from carbon black production is utilized in a gas engine by adding an oxygen-containing gas to the combustible gas, passing said mixed gas over a selective catalyst, which is active for oxidizing H.sub.2S to SO.sub.2 but substantially inactive for oxidation of CO, H.sub.2 and other hydrocarbons with less than 4 C-atoms, passing the converted gas through an SO.sub.2 removal step, and passing the cleaned gas to a gas engine or to an energy recovery boiler. This way, the tail gas from carbon black production, which is normally combusted in a CO boiler or incinerated, can be utilized to good effect.
SORBENT COMPOSITION FOR AN ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR
Powdery calcium-magnesium compound, sorbent composition based on calcium-magnesium for being used in flue gas treatment, compatible with electrostatic precipitators and process for reducing the resistivity of a powdery sorbent composition for flue gas treatment installation comprising an electrostatic precipitator.
Systems and method for removal of acid gas in a circulating dry scrubber
Systems and methods for the use of highly reactive hydrated lime (HRH) in circulating dry scrubbers (CDS) to remove sulfur dioxide (SO.sub.2) from the flue gas.
CALCIUM HYDROXIDE-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Calcium hydroxide-containing compositions can be manufactured by slaking quicklime, and subsequently drying and milling the slaked product. The resulting calcium hydroxide-containing composition can have a size, steepness, pore volume, and/or other features that render the compositions suitable for treatment of exhaust gases and/or removal of contaminants. In some embodiments, the calcium hydroxide-containing compositions can include a D.sub.10 from about 0.5 microns to about 4 microns, a D.sub.90 less than about 30 microns, and a ratio of D.sub.90 to D.sub.10 from about 8 to about 20, wherein individual particles include a surface area greater than or equal to about 25 m.sup.2/g.
Process for the combined removal of siloxanes and sulfur-containing compounds from biogas streams
A process for combined removal of siloxanes and sulfur-containing compounds from biogas streams, such as streams from landfills or anaerobic digesters, comprises heating the biogas stream and optionally mixing it with air, feeding the gas to a first filter unit with high temperature resistance, injecting a dry sorbent into the first filter unit to capture siloxanes present in the gas, recycling part of the exit gas from the first filter unit to the inlet thereof for the sulfur-containing compounds to be captured by the dry sorbent or optionally to a second filter unit inlet for the sulfur-containing compounds to be captured by a sulfur-specific sorbent and recovering clean gas from the first or optionally from the second filter unit.
ACTIVATION OF A MATERIAL CONTAINING ALKALINE-EARTH METAL CARBONATE AND ALKALINE-EARTH METAL HYDROXIDE FOR THE DRY SCRUBBING OF FLUE GAS
The invention relates to a method for increasing the absorbency of a material containing alkaline-earth carbonate and alkaline-earth hydroxide with regard to sulfur oxides and/or other pollutants, in particular in flue gas, wherein the material containing alkaline-earth carbonate and alkaline-earth hydroxide is activated by heating said material to approximately 250 C. to approximately 750 C. for a time period of 1 minute to 12 hours.
