Disclosed are methods, systems, and apparatuses for purifying liquids. One illustrative method includes generating an aerosol from a contaminated liquid. The illustrative method also includes generating a vapor from the aerosol by applying a negative pressure to the aerosol. The illustrative method further includes separating at least one type of contaminant particle from the vapor and converting the vapor into a liquid.

A gas/fluid mass exchange apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a gas permeable membrane which is arranged to separate a first region for receiving a gas flow, from a second region for receiving a fluid flow. The apparatus further comprises support means which is arranged to maintain the shape and orientation of the membrane.

A bioreactor (30) for production and harvesting of microalgae is described, comprising a reactor basin (32) in the form of a tank arranged to receive CO2 and water as well as algae, and which is equipped with at least one outlet for harvesting of algal biomass, where the reactor basin (32) comprises a rotating beam (54) equipped with one or more tillable mixing grates (60) and harvesting grates (62).

A gas/fluid mass exchange apparatus includes a gas permeable membrane which is arranged to separate a first region for receiving a gas flow, from a second region for receiving a fluid flow. The apparatus further a support element which is arranged to maintain the shape and orientation of the membrane.

The present invention relates to an aquarium pressurized gas vessel for supplying an aquarium (12) with CO2 gas generated in the aquarium pressurized gas vessel (10), the aquarium pressurized gas vessel (10) having a receiving vessel (14) for receiving a nutrient substrate and a reactant interacting with the nutrient substrate such that the nutrient substrate and the reactant react with each other to generate CO2 gas; a closing device (16) for closing the receiving vessel (14) in a pressure-tight manner; a gas outflow device (18) for extracting CO2 gas from the aquarium pressurized gas vessel (10) for the aquarium (12), the CO2 gas having a gassing pressure (p_B) when flowing into the gas outflow device (18); a gas vessel pressure regulator (20) for adjusting a gas vessel pressure (p_G) which substantially corresponds to the gassing pressure (p_B). Further, the present invention relates to a CO2 gassing system (28) which includes the aforementioned aquarium pressurized gas vessel (10).

The embodiments of this disclosure are related to a water treatment system comprising a flotation tank, a shell-tube inlet conduit connected to the flotation tank and comprising a shell configured to supply a gas and at least one tube configured to supply untreated water, wherein each of the shell and the tube has a first part exposed to an outside of the flotation tank and a second part extending into the flotation tank, a microbubble forming means positioned on or adjacent to the second part of the shell, and a treated water outlet connected to the flotation tank and configured to allow treated water separated from solids in the flotation tank to be discharged therethrough.

A liquid sorbent system includes a membrane contactor and a bubbler. The membrane contactor is configured to absorb one or more contaminants into or desorb one or more contaminants from a liquid sorbent. The membrane contactor includes a contactor housing and one or more hollow fiber membranes positioned in the contactor housing. The contactor housing is configured to receive the liquid sorbent at a liquid inlet and discharge liquid sorbent at a liquid outlet. The bubbler is configured to generate bubbles in the liquid sorbent upstream of the liquid outlet.

A perfume holding member 101 includes: a perfume holder 208 that holds perfume; a holding space 209 where the perfume holder is disposed; a first opening 202 and a second opening 211 that open the holding space to the outside; movable portions 204 and 210 that move so as to open and close the first opening and the second opening; and a tolerance absorbing portion 207 that absorbs a tolerance between the first opening/closing position of the first opening of the movable portion and the second opening/closing position of the second opening of the movable portion. The holding space has an airflow passage including the first opening and the second opening, and the movable portions close the first opening and the second opening in a steady state and open the first opening and the second opening when the holding space is opened.

A method and a system for sequestering carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) while producing freshwater are provided. An exemplary method includes producing saline water from a saline aquifer, desalinating at least a portion of the saline water, producing freshwater and waste brine, mixing waste CO.sub.2 with the waste brine forming a brine/CO.sub.2 mixture, and injecting the brine/CO.sub.2 mixture into the saline aquifer.
