A valve-tray assembly and method for lighter fluid heavier fluid contact towers. The active area of the tray is constructed with valves having multiple lighter fluid discharge areas facilitating improved mass transfer efficiency. The valves include first and second support legs oriented in line with the heavier fluid flow with both legs and the valve top constructed with apertures wherein the heavier fluid may flow into engagement with the lighter fluid passing from beneath the tray up, through and out of the valve.

A multi-stage aeration apparatus includes at least two vertically oriented aeration modules. Each aeration module defines a vertically elongated aeration chamber having a top inlet and a bottom outlet. The bottom outlet of each of the aeration modules feeds a fluid stream comprising liquid and gas into the top inlet of an underlying one of the aeration modules. Each aeration module has an aeration head connected to the top inlet, such that the fluid stream passing through the top inlet into the aeration chamber must pass through the aeration head, the aeration head aerating the liquid with the gas in the fluid stream.

Assembly for selectively aerating a beverage

An assembly for selectively aerating a beverage. The assembly includes a body, a diverter movable between first, second, and third positions, and an aerator in fluid communication with the diverter, the aerator including a central outlet and aeration outlets. When the diverter is in the first position, the diverter is positioned such that the beverage flows through the body and the central outlet while bypassing the aeration outlets. When the diverter is in the second position, the diverter is positioned such that the beverage flows through the aeration outlets while bypassing the central outlet. When the diverter is in the third position, the diverter is positioned such that the beverage flows through the body, a first portion of the beverage flows through the central outlet while bypassing the aeration outlets, and a second portion of the beverage flows through the aeration outlets while bypassing the central outlet.

A device (100) for aeration of and separation of carbon dioxide from a fluid is disclosed. The device comprises at least a first and a second screen gear (101,102) said first and second screen gear (101,102) comprising several screen windows (203) in the form of openings. The shape and/or distribution of said screen windows (203) on said first and second screen gear (101,102), when said first and second screen gear (101,102) are connected, is such that at least 20%, preferably at least 25%, more preferably at least 30%, of the screen windows (203) of the first screen gear (101) are asymmetrically distributed in relation to the screen windows (203) of the second screen gear (102), asymmetrically distributed implying that the edges surrounding the screen windows of the first screen gear are not 100% overlapping the edges of the screen windows of the second screen gear when the first and second screen gear are connected and seen from above.
