DIETARY FIBER COMPOSITIONS WITH PSYLLIUM AND METHODS OF USE
A dietary composition comprising (i) from about 40% to about 80% (w/w) of a fiber composition comprising glucomannan, xanthan gum, and alginate; and (ii) from about 10% to about 60% (w/w) psyllium is provided, along with a method and a food product for promoting satiety, promoting weight loss, lowering blood cholesterol levels or lowering blood glucose levels in a mammal.
FOAMABLE COMPOSITION AND FOAM
The present invention relates to a foamable composition comprising 0.05 to 10 wt % of a plant germ flour, 0.1 to 15 wt % of a thickening agent, 0.1 to 35 wt % of a natural fiber, and water, wherein each wt % is based on the total weight of the composition. The invention further relates to: (a) a foam obtainable from said foamable composition; (b) a method for producing said foamable composition comprising mixing the ingredients with water; (c) the use of said foamable composition or said foam in a food product; and (d) a food product comprising said foamable composition or said foam.

Food composition
The present invention provides a food composition that makes it possible to effectively conduct mastication and swallowing training. The food composition contains a starch, a gelling agent, a paste, and water, the amount of the water contained in the composition being 65 wt % or more and less than 90 wt %, the total amount of the starch, the gelling agent, the paste, and the water being 85 to 100 wt %, the composition having a fracture stress of 20,000 to 70,000 N/m.sup.2.
Nutritional products to promote safe swallowing for individuals with dysphagia
Nutritional products, uses thereof, methods for the manufacture and methods for improving the cohesiveness of the nutritional products are disclosed. The nutritional products have improved cohesiveness for promoting safer swallowing of food boluses for individuals having swallowing difficulties such as dysphagia.
LOWER CARBOHYDRATE SOUP PRODUCT AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING A LOWER CARBOHYDRATE SOUP PRODUCT
A lower carbohydrate soup product is produced by preparing a mixture of soup ingredients, native xanthan gum, particulate xanthan gum and water to form a suspension in a high-speed mixer at a high sheer rate. The native xanthan gum and particulate xanthan gum cooperate to provide a viscosity necessary for successfully retorting a lower carbohydrate soup. The suspension is heated with steam injection until a viscosity sufficient to maintain the soup ingredients and particulate xanthan gum in a suspension. The suspension is then injected into a retort container and undergoes a retort process, thereby producing the lower carbohydrate soup product.
Liquid dietary fiber products and methods of making and using the same
A liquid dietary fiber product includes dietary fiber in an aqueous liquid at a concentration of at least 5 g of the dietary fiber per 60 mL of the aqueous liquid. The dietary fiber is from at least three dietary fiber sources. A process of forming a single-serve liquid dietary fiber product includes combining dietary fiber with an aqueous liquid at a concentration of at least 5 g of the dietary fiber per 60 mL of the aqueous liquid to form a liquid dietary fiber product. The dietary fiber is from at least three dietary fiber sources. The process also includes sterilizing the liquid dietary fiber product and containing the liquid dietary fiber product in a single-serve packet to form the single-serve liquid dietary fiber product.
SUGAR SYRUP COMPOSITION
The present disclosure provides a saccharide syrup composition, especially a saccharide syrup composition satisfying specific physical properties and a manufacturing method thereof.
