Efficient mixing of gases in an exhaust aftertreatment system
An inlet for an SCR device including a tube having an upstream end for receiving exhaust gases and a downstream end terminating in a porous wall. A plurality of openings are spaced around the circumference of the tube adjacent the porous wall and a plurality of vanes are formed at a connection junction adjacent one edge of the opening to form vanes extending inward at an acute angle relative to a plane between the connecting junction and the longitudinal axis of the tube. Preferably, the vanes are concave on the surface extending inward to promote more effective mixing.
Feed mixture distribution device
A feed mixture distribution device configured to even out a feed of feed mixture in an annular feed mixture feed channel of a burner. The feed mixture distribution device includes a cylindrical member having a cylindrical wall, a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal central axis X. The cylindrical member is at the first end provided with rectangular flat plate means, which extend radially from the cylindrical wall of the cylindrical member and which are arranged symmetrically about the longitudinal central axis X of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical wall of the cylindrical member is between the rectangular flat plate and the second end provided with helical plate means arranged symmetrically about the longitudinal central axis X of the cylindrical member.

Foam generator insert
Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to foam generation and provide a novel and non-obvious insert for a foam generation apparatus. In an embodiment of the invention, an insert for a foam generator includes a cylindrical cage and a multiplicity of fins extending from an interior portion of the cage towards a longitudinal axis of the cage, and at an inclined angle relative to the axis. The insert further includes at least one pad contacting the interior portion of the cage in a volume defined by opposing sets of the fins and the interior portion of the cage.
High performance static mixer
A static mixer device comprising a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and an opening extending between the proximal and distal ends. In certain embodiments, a plurality of metal frits is positioned within the opening of the housing, each of the metal frits extending across a cross-sectional dimension of the opening and having interconnected porosity. In other embodiments, one or more mixer elements fabricated using laser additive manufacturing technology and having novel configurations are positioned within the opening of the housing. In yet other embodiments, the housing comprises multiple openings having different diameters from each other, with each opening either extending through the housing with a constant diameter or with one or more of the openings having a varying diameter.
Method of mixing using an improved flow reactor
A method of mixing using a tubular reactor wherein process material continuously passes through the tubular reactor which is operating at predetermined reaction conditions. The tubular reactor is rotated through reciprocating arcs about the longitudinal axis of the tube as the process material passes therethrough. Static and/or dynamic mixers or agitators may be provided within the tubular reactor.
EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
An exhaust gas aftertreatment system includes an exhaust gas conduit a mixer, and a plurality of flow disrupters. The exhaust gas conduit is centered on a conduit center axis and includes an inner surface. The mixer includes a mixer body and an upstream vane plate. The upstream vane plate has a plurality of upstream vanes. At least one of the upstream vanes is coupled to the mixer body. The flow disrupters are disposed downstream of the mixer and circumferentially around the conduit center axis. Each of the flow disrupters is coupled to the exhaust gas conduit or integrally formed with the exhaust gas conduit. Each of the flow disrupters extends inwardly from the inner surface.
Heating, mixing and hydrating apparatus and process
The invention relates to apparatus and a process for mixing a gas/vapour with a process liquid comprising a material and a carrier liquid. The apparatus comprises a passage (10) having an inlet (14), an outlet (16) for a process liquid comprising the material, and an inlet (24) for introducing supersonic steam at a mixing zone (42). The profile of the mixing zone (42) can be varied to optimise mixing.
