Methods for Maintaining a Metered Flow Rate of Fluid Treated Seed
A stream of seed may be maintained at a metered flow rate through multiple stages of a treatment process. These multiple stages include dispensing, first application of fluid, second application of fluid, and seed transport. Seed transport may be accomplished through a conveyor configured to maintain the metered flow rate while providing static mixing, drying, and conditioning of the treated seed. The metered stream of seed may be treated within a first treatment applicator where a first wet treatment is applied, transferred through the incline conveyor, and treated again within a second treatment applicator where a second wet treatment is applied. Overtreating in multiple stages may layer consecutive seed treatments around the treated seed. A predetermined amount of seed treatment may be applied to the coated seed based on the metered flow rate established. Maintaining the metered flow rate through multiple stages eliminates the need for multiple metering steps.

BAFFLED DONUT APPARATUS FOR USE IN SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMING GYPSUM BOARD
A system and method for introducing a slurry mixture for making gypsum board is disclosed. The system includes, for example, a mixer, a foam injector, and a canister for mixing and moving a slurry mixture of foam and gypsum slurry. Also included in the system is an apparatus having a funnel body constructed and arranged to further mix the slurry mixture. The funnel body includes a number of baffles projecting from its inner wall towards a center and that are spaced around the inner wall. The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for forming the gypsum board.
REMOVAL OF ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTANTS FROM GAS, RELATED APPARATUSES, PROCESSES AND USES THEREOF
One aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising a single stage conversion of an atmospheric pollutant, such as NO, NO.sub.2 and/or SO.sub.x in a first stream to one or more mineral acids and/or salts thereof by reacting with nonionic gas phase chlorine dioxide (ClO.sub.2.sup.0 , wherein the reaction is carried out in the gas phase. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising first adjusting the atmospheric pollutant concentrations in a first stream to a molar ratio of about 1:1, and then reacting with an aqueous metal hydroxide solution (MOH). Another aspect of the invention relates to an apparatus that can be used to carry out the methods disclosed herein. The methods disclosed herein are unexpectedly efficient and cost effective, and can be applied to a stream comprising high concentration and large volume of atmospheric pollutants.

The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for depositing onto paper to form the gypsum board.
REMOVAL OF ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTANTS FROM GAS, RELATED APPARATUS, PROCESSES AND USES THEREOF
Methods related generally to the removal of atmospheric pollutants from the gas phase, are provided, as well as related apparatus, processes and uses thereof. A single-stage air scrubbing apparatus is provided that includes at least one reaction vessel, at least one introduction duct, and a turbulence component, wherein a residence time is sufficient to allow the conversion of at least one atmospheric pollution compound to at least one other compound, molecule or atom. In some embodiments, the at least one atmospheric pollution compound comprises nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide or a combination thereof. Additionally, methods of removing atmospheric pollution compounds from a waste gas stream are disclosed that include introducing a waste gas stream and at least one additional gas stream, mist stream, liquid stream or combination thereof into a single-stage air scrubbing apparatus at a flow rate sufficient to allow for conversion of the at least one atmospheric pollution compound.
Mixing elements with a reduced structural depth for static mixers
The invention relates to mixing elements with a reduced structural depth for static mixers, to static mixers comprising at least two mixing elements with a reduced structural depth, and to a method for mixing fluids using a mixing element with a reduced structural depth or a static mixer comprising at least two mixing elements with a reduced structural depth. In the mixing elements, the thickness of the transverse strut at its thickest point is maximally 0.9 to 1.1 times the thickness of the webs multiplied by the cosine of half the opening angle O divided by the sine of the whole opening angle O.
Device and method for producing a ready-to-use solution from a concentrate
A device and related method for producing a ready-to-use solution from a concentrate and a diluent includes an inlet for the diluent; an inlet for the concentrate; an outlet for the solution; a line extending from the inlet for the diluent via a confluence where diluent and concentrate meet, to the outlet; a mixing container arranged in the line between the confluence and the outlet and having a larger cross-section than parts of the line, which are arranged upstream and downstream of the mixing container; and a metering pump for the concentrate, which is connected on the suction side to the inlet for the concentrate and on the pressure side to the confluence and which operates in a pulsed manner. The metering pump works with a clock frequency, in which a plurality of pump surges are attributable to the dwell time of the liquid in the mixing container.
