SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SOLVENT MIXING IN A CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEM
A solvent mixing system includes a mixing tee, a centrifugal mixing path, and a low frequency blending mixer. The mixing tee has at least two solvent input ports and a solvent output port in fluid communication with one another. The centrifugal mixing path has a mixing path inlet in fluid communication with the solvent output port of the mixing tee. The centrifugal mixing path includes at least one coiled segment between the mixing path inlet and a mixing path outlet. The low frequency blending mixer is in fluid communication with the outlet of the centrifugal mixing path.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSTANTANEOUS ON-LINE CARBONATION OF WATER THROUGH ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING
Carbonation apparatus is provided for carbonating a mixed input flow of pressurized and refrigerated carbon dioxide and water. A first cartridge is disposed within the carbonation chamber, defining a porous micromesh net in fluid communication with the input flow and a central cavity in fluid communication with the carbonation chamber output port. The micromesh net is configured to break up chains of water molecules passing through the net, to enhance bonding between the water and carbon dioxide molecules within the cartridge. The net also responds to the flow of water and carbon dioxide molecules impacting and passing through the net by generating a passive polarizing field that has a polarizing influence on the water molecules to further enhance bonding. Beads may be provided within the cartridge for capturing and stabilizing carbon dioxide molecules to yet further enhance bonding between the water and the carbon dioxide molecules.
PRESSURIZED CONTAINER INCLUDING FLOWABLE PRODUCT AND NON-SOLUBLE PROPELLANT
A pressurized container assembly includes a pressurized container, a valve, and a shearing chamber. A flowable product and propellant are also provided within the container. The propellant is substantially non-soluble in the flowable product. Methods of producing a foamed flowable product using shearing chambers are also disclosed.
Method for controlling fluid accuracy and backflow compensation
A method for controlling fluid ratio accuracy during a dual flow injection with a powered injection system is described. The method includes predicting a first capacitance volume of a first syringe comprising a first medical fluid and a second capacitance volume of a second syringe comprising a second medical fluid with a first capacitance correction factor and a second capacitance correction factor, respectively, selecting a ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid to be administered to a patient in the dual flow injection, determining a relative acceleration ratio of a first piston of the first syringe and a second piston of a second syringe based on the predicted first capacitance volume and the predicted second capacitance volume, wherein the relative acceleration ratio is selected to maintain the selected ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid during the dual flow injection, and injecting a mixture of a first medical fluid and a second medical fluid having the selected ratio with the powered injection system.
Packed bed emulsification
A system and method for producing fine droplets of polysaccharide from a premixed water-in-oil emulsion uses a packed bed (5) comprising hydrophilic beads (7).
BIOCOMPATIBLE POLYMER POWDERS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The present invention is directed to biocompatible polymeric powders to be used for 3D printing applications. More specifically, the 3D printing process will allow a tool less manufacturing of medical devices in particular in the implantables or regenerative space. Its flow and other processing characteristics qualifies them for the use in selective laser sintering, but also could be suitable for other powder based 3D printing technologies.
Vortexing chamber and system
A vortexing chamber, including: a chamber housing having a hollow channel, a first end and a second end; and one or more structural impediment objects having a substantially spherical, cubic, rectangular, cylindrical, polyhedron, tetrahedron, or irregular shape; where the objects are housed within the hollow channel, configured to mix a liquid and gas (for example, oxygen or nitrogen) when a liquid and gas pass through the vortexing chamber. The structural impediment objects can provide turbulence and dispersion when a liquid and gas are passed through the vortexing chamber at a high velocity, resulting in micro-bubbles or nano-bubbles suspended in a liquid and gas mixture.
PROCESS FOR OXIDISING A SUBSTRATE
A process for oxidising a substrate selected from hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), diformylfuran (DFF), hydroxymethylfurancarboxylic acid (HMFCA) and formylfurancarboxylic acid (FFCA). Said process comprises mixing said substrate with catalase, one or more further enzymes and hydrogen peroxide to form a reaction mixture. Said one or more further enzymes have the ability to catalyse oxidation of said substrate. Said hydrogen peroxide is provided at a total molar ratio of at least about 0.1:1 hydrogen peroxide to substrate.
ABSORBENT AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING AN ABSORBENT
An absorbent is provided, which is produced from component A, a foaming agent, and component B, a resin. Furthermore, a device and a method for producing the absorbent and a method for absorbing a liquid by means of the absorbent are provided.
Foam generator
A foam generator, in particular for a motor vehicle washing installation, includes a foam generation chamber having at least one inlet for water, surfactant and gas, in particular compressed gas, and one outlet for foam, and contains a fluid-permeable bed of loose particles. The bed fills the foam generation chamber sufficiently to prevent fluidization of the bed.
