A disproportionation and transalkylation catalyst can be used in the catalytic conversion of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons. The catalyst contains an acidic molecular sieve, a first metal component immobilized on the acidic molecular sieve and an oxide additive. The first metal contained in the first metal component is at least one selected from the group of Group VB metals, Group VIB metals and Group VIIB metals, the catalyst has a mediate strong acid content of 0.05-2.0 mmol/g of catalyst, and a ratio of the mediate strong acid content to the total acid content of 60-99%. When used in the catalytic conversion of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons, the catalyst exhibits high reaction activity, low aromatic hydrocarbon loss rate.

A method for upgrading pyrolysis oil includes contacting a pyrolysis oil feed with hydrogen in the presence of a mixed metal oxide catalyst in a slurry reactor to produce an intermediate stream comprising light aromatic compounds comprising mono-aromatic compounds, di-aromatic compounds, or both, passing the intermediate stream to a hydrocracking reactor, contacting the intermediate stream with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrocracking catalyst in a hydrocracking reactor to produce a hydrocracking effluent comprising aromatic compounds having six to nine carbon atoms, passing the hydrocracking effluent to a transalkylation reactor, and contacting the hydrocracking effluent with hydrogen in the presence of a transalkylation catalyst in the transalkylation reactor to produce a transalkylation effluent comprising xylenes.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a method of producing a cracking catalyst. The method of producing a cracking catalyst may comprise producing a plurality of uncalcined zeolite-beta nanoparticles via a dry-gel method, directly mixing the plurality of uncalcined zeolite-beta nanoparticles with at least one additional hydrocracking component to form a mixture, and calcining the mixture to form the cracking catalyst. The plurality of uncalcined zeolite-beta nanoparticles may have an average diameter of less than 100 nm.

Hydrocracking catalysts containing USY and beta zeolites for hydrocarbon oil and method for hydrocracking hydrocarbon oil with hydrocracking catalysts

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a catalyst composition includes a catalyst support and at least one hydrogenative metal component disposed on the catalyst support. The catalyst support includes at least one USY zeolite having a framework substituted with titanium and zirconium and at least one beta zeolite also having a framework substituted with titanium and zirconium. A method of using such a catalyst in a hydrocracking process is also disclosed.
