Polymerization methods
Disclosed herein are methods of forming (co)polymers from polymerizable compositions, the methods comprising irradiating the polymerizable compositions with light, wherein the polymerizable compositions comprise a polymerization initiator having an absorption band and exhibiting triplet-triplet annihilation up-conversion and a monomer. Also disclosed herein are methods of additive manufacturing using the methods of forming (co)polymers described herein.
Methods for the reduction of carbon dioxide
Some embodiments of the invention include methods of using a compound (e.g., Formula (I)) for the reduction of carbon dioxide to formate by contacting the carbon dioxide with a composition comprising a compound. In certain embodiments, the source of the carbon dioxide is air or is flue gas. Additional embodiments of the invention are also discussed herein.
CATALYST FOR CONTAMINANT REDUCTION AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Described herein are heterogeneous catalysts for removing impurities, such as halogen oxyanions (e.g., ClO.sub.4.sup.− and ClO.sub.3.sup.−), from a fluid, the catalyst can comprise: an oxygen atom transfer (OAT) transition metal, a Group VIII metal, and a support, where the transition metal, and the Group VIII metal can be in physical communication with the support either directly or indirectly through each other, whereby the catalyst can chemically remove impurities from the fluid. Certain embodiments provide catalysts that further comprise nitrogen donor ligand(s). Accordingly, such catalysts that comprise the OAT transition metal in the form of a complex with one or more nitrogen donor ligands have enhanced efficiency in reducing halogen oxyanion (e.g., ClO.sub.4.sup.−) to Cl.sup.−. Also described are methods or kits for making the catalysts and methods or reactor for the treatment of a fluid utilizing the catalyst.
METAL-LIGAND CATALYSTS FOR SELECTIVE PROMOTION OF ELECTROCHEMICAL CO2RR
The electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO.sub.2RR) provides opportunities to synthesize value-added products from this greenhouse gas in a sustainable manner. Efficient catalysts for this reaction are provided that selectively drive CO.sub.2 reduction over the thermodynamic and kinetically competitive hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in organic or aqueous electrolytes. The catalysts are metal-polypyridyl coordination complexes of a redox non-innocent terpyridine-based pentapyridine ligand and a first-row transition metal. The metal-ligand cooperativity in [Fe(tpyPY2Me)].sup.2+ drives the electrochemical reduction of CO.sub.2 to CO at low overpotentials with high selectivity for CO.sub.2RR (>90%).
Ruthenium-based photolinkers and methods of use
The present invention provides ruthenium-based photolinker compounds, caged molecules comprising the ruthenium-based photolinker compounds, and methods of use. In certain aspects, the compositions disclosed herein comprise an active domain conjugated to a ruthenium-based photolinker, such that irradiation of the photolinker exposes the active domain.
Cobalt complexes, process for preparation and use thereof
The present invention discloses a cobalt compound of formula (I), a process for the preparation and use thereof. The present invention further relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a method inhibition of Tau Aggregation in a subject in need thereof using compound of formula (I). ##STR00001##
Methods for preparing formaldehyde from carbon dioxide
The present disclosure provides, inter alia, methods for preparing formaldehyde from carbon dioxide using bis(silyl)acetals, methods for incorporating carbon derived from carbon dioxide into a complex organic molecule derived from formaldehyde using bis(silyl)acetals, and methods for generating an isotopologue of a complex organic molecule derived from formaldehyde using bis(silyl)acetals.
SELECTIVE HYDRODEOXYGENATION OF AROMATIC COMPOUNDS
Disclosed are methods of selective hydrodeoxygenation of aromatic compounds by using catalyst systems comprising N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) and 4-pyridinol-derived pincer ligands and metal complexes containing these ligands.
SELECTIVE VALORIZATION OF BIOMASS SUGARS
Disclosed are methods of forming an epimer or a dehydrated isomer of a pyranose monosaccharide or a pyranose saccharide residue in an oligosaccharide or a glycoside.
Transcriptome in vivo analysis (TIVA) and transcriptome in situ analysis (TISA)
Compositions and methods of capturing one or more nucleic acid molecules of a cell or subcellular compartment are described. In certain aspects, the compositions comprise a caged molecule comprising one or more photolinkers and an antisense oligonucleotide, which when uncaged hybridizes to a target nucleic acid molecule.
