SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LOCAL GENERATION AND/OR CONSUMPTION OF HYDROGEN GAS
Systems for producing hydrogen gas for local distribution, consumption, and/or storage, and related devices and methods are disclosed herein. A representative system includes a pyrolysis reactor that can be coupled to a supply of reaction material that includes a hydrocarbon. The reactor includes one or more flow channels positioned to transfer heat to the reaction material to convert the hydrocarbon into an output that includes hydrogen gas and carbon particulates. The system also includes a carbon separation system operably coupled to the pyrolysis reactor to separate the hydrogen gas the carbon particulates in the output. In various embodiments, the system also includes components to locally consume the filtered hydrogen gas.
Modular reactor systems and devices, methods of manufacturing the same and methods of performing reactions
A modular reactor device has an outer housing, a reaction chamber, a fluid pathway connected to the reaction chamber, and a valve to control flow of fluid within the device. The outer housing has a plurality of connection ports including: a fluid input and a fluid output; an electrical input; and a pneumatic input. Either the electrical input or the pneumatic input is connected to the valve to provide for control of the valve, and either the fluid input or the fluid output is connected to the reaction chamber or the fluid pathway. Other aspects provide a base station for receiving and controlling a modular reactor device and methods for manufacturing the modular reactor device and for performing reactions using a modular reactor device.

The first mixture stream and the second mixture stream can be fed separately to at least one reaction zone comprising one or more monomers dissolved in the process solvent where the at least one monomers can be polymerized within the at least one reaction zone in the presence of the catalyst, activator and process solvent to produce a polymer product.

MICROWAVE-ASSISTED PYROLYSIS SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
The present invention generally relates to a microwave-assisted pyrolysis system comprised of a microwave chamber body (102); a black carbon platform (104) disposed inside the microwave chamber body for irradiating microwave radiation and absorbing microwave energy; a quartz microwave reactor (106) placed on the black carbon platform for receiving chemical precursor(s) and applying microwave irradiation for absorption of microwave energy thereby heating the black carbon platform for microwave-assisted pyrolysis of the received chemical precursor(s); a cooling unit (108) employed for regulating and maintaining a user-defined temperature level upon detecting the temperature inside the microwave reactor using a temperature sensor (110), if the temperature exceeds the optimum level, wherein the optimum temperature is defined on the type of precursors undergoing pyrolysis; and wherein if the heating temperature is raised extremely high, the cooling unit inside the microwave machine gets activated to bring down the temperature to the user-defined level.

Air-cooled heat exchangers
A plant or refinery may include equipment such as reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, regenerators, separators, or the like. Types of heat exchangers include shell and tube, plate, plate and shell, plate fin, air cooled, wetted-surface air cooled, or the like. Operating methods may impact deterioration in equipment condition, prolong equipment life, extend production operating time, or provide other benefits. Mechanical or digital sensors may be used for monitoring equipment, and sensor data may be programmatically analyzed to identify developing problems. For example, sensors may be used in conjunction with one or more system components to detect and correct maldistribution, cross-leakage, strain, pre-leakage, thermal stresses, fouling, vibration, problems in liquid lifting, conditions that can affect air-cooled exchangers, conditions that can affect a wetted-surface air-cooled heat exchanger, or the like. An operating condition or mode may be adjusted to prolong equipment life or avoid equipment failure.

Aspects of the present invention provide a modular reactor device having an outer housing, and a plurality of components contained within the outer housing, the components including: a reaction chamber; a fluid pathway connected to the reaction chamber; and a valve arranged to control flow of fluid within the device, wherein the outer housing has a plurality of connection ports providing connections from the exterior of the device to the interior, the connection ports including: a fluid input and a fluid output; an electrical input; and a pneumatic input; wherein either the electrical input or the pneumatic input is connected to the valve to provide for control of the valve, and either the fluid input or the fluid output is connected to the reaction chamber or the fluid pathway. Other aspects provide a base station for receiving and controlling a modular reactor device and methods for manufacturing the modular reactor device and for performing reactions using a modular reactor device.
SYSTEMS AND TECHNIQUES FOR HEATING POLYMER REACTOR FLASHLINES
A polyolefin reactor flashline heater system may include an enclosure, a heating section, and a transformer. The heating section is contained in the enclosure and extends between a first end and a second end. The first end is fluidically coupled to a polyolefin reactor product inlet. The second end is fluidically coupled to a heated product outlet. One or more pipe sections are coupled in series between the first end and the second end. The one or more pipe sections are formed of an electrically conducting material and have a predetermined diameter to transport a polyolefin reactor stream from the first end to the second end. The transformer is electrically coupled to the first end and the second end and configured to heat the heating section by impedance heating. A polymerization system may include a polyolefin reactor coupled to the polyolefin reactor flashline heater system.
