Reactor
A reactor is disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a reactor comprises a reactor tank having an accommodation space therein for performing a polymerization reaction of a reactive fluid, an outer refrigerant jacket positioned outside the reactor tank and having a refrigerant flowing therethrough, and an inner refrigerant jacket inside the reactor tank and having a refrigerant flowing therethrough. The refrigerants of the outer refrigerant jacket and the inner refrigerant jacket may flow in opposite directions to each other.
Metal Supported Powder Catalyst Matrix and Processes for Multiphase Chemical Reactions
A catalytic membrane composite that includes porous supported catalyst particles durably enmeshed in a porous fibrillated polymer membrane is provided. The porous fibrillated polymer membrane may be manipulated to take the form of a tube, disc, or diced tape and used in multiphase reaction systems. The supported catalyst particles are composed of at least one finely divided metal catalyst dispersed on a porous support substrate. High catalytic activity is gained by the effective fine dispersion of the finely divided metal catalyst such that the metal catalyst covers the support substrate and/or is interspersed in the pores of the support substrate. In some embodiments, the catalytic membrane composite may be introduced to a stirred tank autoclave reactor system, a continuous flow reactor system, or a Parr Shaker reaction system and used to effect the catalytic reaction.
Reactor for polymerization process
In one embodiment, a reactor includes a reactor body and a reactor head. The reactor head has a reactor head body and one or more inlets disposed tangentially to the reactor head body. In one embodiment, a polymerization process for forming polymer includes introducing in a first direction a stream including a monomer. The stream and a catalyst system are flowed in a second direction through at least one internal heat exchanger. The second direction is substantially orthogonal to the first direction. The reaction zone includes at least one internal heat exchanger. At least a portion of the monomer of the stream is polymerized in the reaction zone to produce a polymer product. The polymer product is recovered from the reaction zone.
Method and Apparatus for Inductively Heating Micro- and Meso-Channel Process Systems
Induction heating is applied to thermochemical processes in specially adapted chemical processing units comprising heat exchange channels. Collections of components are housed in portable units adapted for easy setup and maintenance.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BIO-DIESEL AND REACTOR
A reactor and process for the production of bio-diesel. The reactor includes one or more coiled reaction lines. The lines are positioned within a tank containing a heat transfer media such as molten salt, maintained at about 750° F. A pump circulates the media within the tank. An emulsion of alcohol; refined feed stock, including glycerides and/or fatty acids; and preferably water is pumped through the reaction lines at temperatures and pressures sufficient to maintain the alcohol in a super-critical state. The curvature of the coils, pump pulsing, and the flow rate of the emulsion keep the emulsion in a turbulent state while in the reactor, ensuring thorough mixing of the alcohol and feed stock. The alcohol reacts with the glycerides and fatty acids to form bio-diesel. The reaction is fast, efficient with regard to energy input and waste generation, and requires minimal alcohol.
Depolymerization System Having Coil-Wound Heat Exchanger
A depolymerization system with a tube-wound heat exchanger (4) comprises a heat exchange device for heating a material, having a material output; a gas-liquid separation device (1) having an inlet and a gas output, connected to the material output of the heat exchange device; and a depolymerization device (2) connected to the gas output of the gas-liquid separation device (1); the heat exchange device comprises at least one tube-wound heat exchanger (4). The depolymerization rate is greatly improved and the service period of the whole depolymerization system can be greatly improved.

Polymerization using a spiral heat exchanger
This invention relates to a polymerization process for forming polymer comprising: contacting (typically in a solution or slurry phase), a monomer and a catalyst system in a reaction zone comprising at least one spiral heat exchanger and recovering polymer, wherein the monomer, the catalyst system and the polymer flow through the at least one spiral heat exchanger in a cross-flow direction relative to spirals of the at least one spiral heat exchanger.
