Cell structures for use in heat exchangers, and methods of producing the same
A cell structure is provided that is (i) capable of handling, on inner and outer surfaces, heat transfer requirements of heat exchangers and/or be a substrate for coatings for catalytic reactors, (ii) able to be easily combined and interconnected into a variety of shapes, and (iii) may be created in an additive manufacturing process. The provided cell structure may be replicated and interconnected with other cell structures to create lattice structures in a variety of shapes. Accordingly, the cell structure may be used to build a heat exchanger or catalytic reactor that has reduced weight compared to traditional architectures.
CONTINUOUS CHEMICAL REACTOR
A continuous chemical reactor may include a primary reaction unit and at least one secondary reaction unit. The primary reaction unit has a stirring device and a first temperature regulating device, and a feed inlet provided at an upper portion thereof. The secondary reaction unit is sleeved outside the primary reaction unit, and a reaction chamber is formed therebetween. By adding reaction materials to the primary reaction unit via the feed inlet and adjusting the temperature of the reaction materials by the first temperature regulating device, the reacted materials enter the reaction chamber, and the heat generated in the reaction chamber can be used to adjust the temperature of the materials in the primary reaction unit to more effectively use the heat, and the product after reaction can be discharged from a discharge hole at the lower end of the secondary reaction unit, thereby achieving continuous production.
High-pressure polymerization process of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in a production line having flanges covered by a chimney construction
A process for polymerizing or copolymerizing ethylenically unsaturated monomers at pressures in the range of from 110 MPa to 500 MPa in a production line comprising a continuously operated polymerization reactor, wherein at least one of a pre-heater or pre-cooler, a polymerization reactor or a post reactor cooler is composed of tubes of a length from 5 m to 25 m which are flanged together, either directly or via bends, and the flanges are covered by a chimney construction, and wherein air is conveyed through the chimney construction and the air exiting the chimney construction is monitored with respect to the hydrocarbons concentration.
Heat exchanger arrangement for a carbon black production plant
An industrial production plant including at least one reactor for producing a flue gas and including a heat exchanger system having a first heat exchanger section for heat exchange between the flue gas and a fluid and a second heat exchanger section for heat exchange between the flue gas and reaction air for the reactor, which can be preheated by the second heat exchanger section. The first heat exchanger section is configured as a double-tube heat exchanger with first tubes each arranged one-way in a respective first jacket tube, and the second heat exchanger section is configured as a tube bundle heat exchanger with a tube bundle of second tubes arranged in a second jacket tube and each arranged one-way in the jacket tube.
Hydrogen sulfide production process and related reactor vessels
The present invention discloses a hydrogen sulfide reactor vessel with an external heating system that is conductively and removably attached to an exterior portion of the reactor vessel. Also disclosed are processes for producing hydrogen sulfide utilizing the reactor vessel.
System and method for controlling and optimizing the hydrothermal upgrading of heavy crude oil and bitumen
A system and method is provided for upgrading a continuously flowing process stream including heavy crude oil (HCO). A reactor receives the process stream in combination with water, at an inlet temperature within a range of about 60 C. to about 200 C. The reactor includes one or more process flow tubes having a combined length of about 30 times their aggregated transverse cross-sectional dimension, and progressively heats the process stream to an outlet temperature T(max)1 within a range of between about 260 C. to about 400 C. The reactor maintains the process stream at a pressure sufficient to ensure that it remains a single phase at T(max)1. A controller selectively adjusts the rate of flow of the process stream through the reactor to maintain a total residence time of greater than about 1 minute and less than about 25 minutes.

INTERNALLY HEATED REACTOR FOR HYDROCARBON CONVERSION
An apparatus for hydrocarbon conversion, the apparatus including a reactor and a reactor insert secured and disposed within an interior cavity of the reactor, is described. The reactor is configured to permit addition of a feed stream comprising a hydrocarbon at an upstream end of the reactor and to permit discharge of a product stream at a downstream end of the reactor. The reactor insert is configured to provide heat to the interior cavity to promote conversion of hydrocarbons as the feed stream moves from the upstream end of the reactor to the downstream end of the reactor. The products of the conversion reaction are discharged at the downstream end as part of the product stream. A method for hydrocarbon conversion using the apparatus is also described.
