Microarray based sample detection system
A microarray assembly for detection of a target molecule is disclosed. The microarray assemblies comprise an array chamber having a microarray located therein and features that facilitate liquid movement within the array chamber. Also disclosed are methods for making the microarray assembly using rollable films and methods for detecting microarray spots using an internal control fluorophore in the array spot.
Neutralization and containment of redox species produced by circumferential electrodes
There is disclosed an electrode array architecture employing continuous and discontinuous circumferential electrodes. There is further disclosed a process for the neutralization of acid generated at anode(s) by base generated at cathode(s) circumferentially located to each other so as to confine a region of pH change. The cathodes can be displayed as concentric rings (continuous) or as counter electrodes in a cross pattern (discontinuous). In this way reagents, such as acid, generated in a center electrode are countered (neutralized) by reagents, such as base, generated at the corners or at the outer ring.

SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH FIDUCIALS IN NON-RECTILINEAR LAYOUTS
Fiducial markers are provided on patterned arrays of the type that may be used for molecular analysis, such as sequencing. The fiducials may have configurations and layouts that that enhance their detection in image or detection data, that facilitate or improve processing, that provide encoding of useful information, and so forth. Examples of the fiducials may include non-rectilinear layouts that may provide for more robust location of both the fiducials and sites of the array.
REAGENT EXCHANGE IN AN INSTRUMENT
A method includes flowing an incorporation reagent through a reagent management system and a flow cell of an instrument. The flow cell having a first polynucleotide positioned therein. The incorporation reagent adding a first base onto a sequence of bases. The sequence of bases includes a second polynucleotide complementary to the first polynucleotide. An image of an identification signal emanating from the first base is captured after the first base has been added onto the second polynucleotide. A cleavage reagent is flowed through the reagent management system and flow cell to remove a first terminator from the first base in order to enable a subsequent base in the sequence of bases to be added to the second polynucleotide. A buffer reagent is flowed through the reagent management system and flow cell in a plurality of cycles of consecutive forward and reverse flow directions.

System and method with fiducials responding to multiple excitation frequencies
Fiducial markers are provided on patterned arrays of the type that may be used for molecular analysis, such as sequencing. The fiducials may have configurations that enhance their detection in image or detection data, that facilitate or improve processing, that provide encoding of useful information, and so forth. Examples of the fiducials may include an always on type that respond to multiple frequencies of radiation used during processing and detection so as to return signals during successive cycles of imaging.

Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to integrated circuits configured to substantially simultaneously collect and read out charge carriers, at least in part. Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to integrated circuits having a plurality of pixels configured to transfer charge carriers between charge storage regions within each pixel substantially at the same time. Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to integrated circuits having three or more sequentially coupled charge storage regions. Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to integrated circuits capable of increased charge transfer rates. Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for manufacturing and operating integrated circuits according to the other techniques described herein.
Method and Device for Combined Detection of Viral and Bacterial Infections
A lateral flow assay is capable of detecting and differentiating viral and bacterial infections. A combined point of care diagnostic device tests markers for viral infection and markers for bacterial infection, to effectively assist in the rapid differentiation of viral and bacterial infections. In some preferred embodiments, bimodal methods and devices determine if an infection is bacterial and/or viral. A dual use two strip sample analysis device includes a first lateral flow chromatographic test strip to detect MxA and a low level of C-reactive protein and a second lateral flow chromatographic test strip to detect high levels of C-reactive protein. In some preferred embodiments, the sample is a fingerstick blood sample.
DNA BARCODE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF IN SITU IDENTIFICATION IN A MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE
Apparatuses, compositions and processes for DNA barcode deconvolution are described herein. A DNA barcode may be used to provide a bead specific identifier, which may be detected in situ using hybridization strategies. The DNA barcode provides identification by sequencing analysis. The dual mode of detection may be used in a wide variety of applications to link positional information with assay information including but not limited to genetic analysis. Methods are described for generation of barcoded single cell sequencing libraries. Isolation of nucleic acids from a single cell within a microfluidic environment can provide the foundation for cell specific sequencing library preparation.
