High capacity dual die assembly
An improved, high-capacity die assembly (10) for a food or feed extruder (12) is provided and is particularly useful for the production of high quality aquatic feeds. The die assembly (10) includes a mount (20), which is secured to the discharge end of an extruder barrel (14), with a plurality of tubular die components (22, 24) coupled with the mount (20). Each component (22, 24) includes wall structure (38) defining an outwardly diverging tubular chamber (40) with a die plate assembly (50) coupled to the outer end of the wall structure (38). A flow diverter element (54) is located within each chamber (40) and has a large diameter end adjacent the assembly (50) and a smaller diameter end closer to the chamber inlet. The assembly (50) has a plurality of openings (52) outboard of the element (54).

Cryogenic hop lupulin or cannabis trichome pellets
An enriched trichome pellet product including either a hop derived lupulin component or a cannabis derived trichome component, and the associated cryogenic and mechanical method for the efficient production of the pellet product. The pellet is produced at low temperatures, which aids in pellet production eliminating degradation of the hop lupulin having a high alpha acid and essential oils content that is especially suited for use in the brewing of beer and hop flavored beverages, and aids in eliminating degradation of the cannabis trichome having aromatic oils, and terpenoids and terpenes as well as therapeutic and psychoactive cannabinoids including THC, CBG, and CBD that is especially suited for use in cannabis component or cannabinoid enriched products.
Carbohydrate tablet and method of fabrication
An edible energy tablet containing at least 80 weight % carbohydrates for consumption during exercise, is fabricated by a process including providing tablet material free of hydrophobic and/or PEG lubricants and free of CO.sub.2 sources. The tablet material includes a sucrose and dextrose mixture of 77-95 wt. %, maltodextrin of 2-13 wt. %, an edible soluble oil of 0.2-2.0 wt. %, and an edible acid of 1-4 wt. %. The tablet material is introduced to a tablet press that alternately moves first and second punches towards and away from one another to compress the tablet material to form and release a tablet. A punch cleaner engaged with the first and second punches removes tablet material from the punches after tablet release. The tablet has a diameter of 1.2 to 3.8 cm, a thickness of 0.6 cm to 2.3 cm, and a resistance to breakage forces of 8.5 to 30 kilopounds.

CONTINUOUS FLOW DRYER FOR TREATING BULK MATERIAL
A continuous flow dryer system according to various embodiments can include a source for supplying a material to be treated having a high moisture content, such as a distiller wet grain, a profile screw compression dryer, a profile screw, and a drive coupled to the profile screw for axially rotating the profile screw. The profile screw compression dryer includes an inlet for receiving the material for drying, which is fed therein in a controlled manner. The profile screw is provided within the housing of the dryer. The profile screw has a diameter that increases in dimension in a direction away from the inlet for increasing the compressive force applied to the material to assist with drying as the profile screw rotates and moves the material longitudinally along the profile screw to produce a final product, for example, a distiller dried grain for use as an animal feed.
