A method of forming a material structure from structural units contained within a liquid solution in a spray head is described. The liquid solution includes a solvent and a solute, the solute comprising a plurality of the structural units, the structural units including monomer units, oligomer units, or combinations thereof. The method comprises forming droplets of the liquid solution including the structural units, and spraying the droplets on a substrate, thereby substantially increasing the reactivity of the structural units within the droplets relative to the structural units within the liquid solution in the spray head. The increase in reactivity can result from the droplets containing an excess of a particular ion, the ion excess resulting from a voltage applied to conductive walls of the device which dispenses the droplets. The material structure is then formed on the substrate from the more highly reactive structural units within the droplets.

A product having an internal substance protected by a rugged exterior shell is disclosed. The internal substance is reactive with the exterior shell but is separated therefrom by a coating on an interior surface of the external shell so that the product can be stored for a long period of time without the internal substance reacting with the exterior shell. The coating is meltable so that, when desired, the product may be heated (e.g. immersed in hot water or exposed to heat) in order to melt the coating so that the internal substance can react with the external shell so that the internal substance can excrete out of the exterior shell.

Pet Food

A pet food is described that has a veneer on a surface that is low in sugar, low in moisture, transport stable, and has a smooth appearance at room temperature. A veneer includes a non-fat solids content of about 40% to about 60% by weight of the veneer, and a fat composition in an amount of 35% to 60% by weight of the veneer.

MULTI-SUPPLEMENT FOOD-ADDITIVE

A fortified salt mixture includes sodium chloride salt grains and a multi-supplement food-additive admixed with the sodium chloride salt grains. The multi-supplement food additive includes particles, and each particle includes a core having a first supplement and a binder, a coating on the core, and a second supplement in the core and/or in the coating. A method for fortifying salt ncludes combining a first supplement, a second supplement, a binder and a coating to yield a multi-supplement food-additive; and admixing the multi-supplement food-additive with sodium chloride salt grains.

Method for preparing and preserving sanitized products

Described herein are methods of sanitizing and preserving produce and other agricultural products, for example for consumption as Ready-to-Eat. The methods can comprise treating the products with a sanitizing agent and forming a protective coating over the products.
