AGRICULTURAL SKIN GRAFTING
A method of forming a material structure from structural units contained within a liquid solution in a spray head is described. The liquid solution includes a solvent and a solute, the solute comprising a plurality of the structural units, the structural units including monomer units, oligomer units, or combinations thereof. The method comprises forming droplets of the liquid solution including the structural units, and spraying the droplets on a substrate, thereby substantially increasing the reactivity of the structural units within the droplets relative to the structural units within the liquid solution in the spray head. The increase in reactivity can result from the droplets containing an excess of a particular ion, the ion excess resulting from a voltage applied to conductive walls of the device which dispenses the droplets. The material structure is then formed on the substrate from the more highly reactive structural units within the droplets.
METHOD FOR PREPARING AND PRESERVING SANITIZED PRODUCTS
Described herein are methods of sanitizing and preserving produce and other agricultural products, for example for consumption as Ready-to-Eat. The methods can comprise treating the products with a sanitizing agent and forming a protective coating over the products.
INSTANT HOT WATER DRINKS
A product having an internal substance protected by a rugged exterior shell is disclosed. The internal substance is reactive with the exterior shell but is separated therefrom by a coating on an interior surface of the external shell so that the product can be stored for a long period of time without the internal substance reacting with the exterior shell. The coating is meltable so that, when desired, the product may be heated (e.g. immersed in hot water or exposed to heat) in order to melt the coating so that the internal substance can react with the external shell so that the internal substance can excrete out of the exterior shell.
Topical flavouring compositions comprising oleic acid and sodium oleate
A method of applying to the surface of a comestible product a solid flavouring, comprising dispersion of the solid flavouring in a non-aqueous continuous medium in the presence of oleic acid and sodium oleate and its topical application to the product, the oleic acid and sodium oleate being present in the relative weight proportions of from 80:20-54:46. The method results in a very even flavouring distribution over the surface of the product.
Method for preparing and preserving sanitized products
Described herein are methods of sanitizing and preserving produce and other agricultural products, for example for consumption as Ready-to-Eat. The methods can comprise treating the products with a sanitizing agent and forming a protective coating over the products.

NUTRITIONAL COMPOSITION IN POWDER FORM PROVIDED IN SINGLE SERVING CAPSULES
The present invention relates to a nutritional formula in powder form provided in single dose capsules, wherein the powder particles are at least partially coated with phospholipids. The nutritional formula has improved in-capsule dissolution properties compared to known nutritional formulae. The present invention also relates to a process for the production of such nutritional formula and to the use of phospholipids to improve the in-capsule dissolution of a nutritional formula.
Starch-Based Extruded Food Products and Methods for Manufacturing Starch-Based Extruded Food Products
Starch-based extruded food products and methods for manufacturing starch-based extruded food products, such as snacks, are disclosed. For example, a starch-based dough may be extruded, cut, and cooked to form a starch-based extruded food product with a rigid extruded body. The cooking process may include baking and/or frying the cut extrusion. The rigid extruded body of the starch-based extruded food product is made up of bodies or segments coupled at joints. The rigid extruded bodies are configured such that bodies of the rigid extruded body may be broken off or separated at the joints to be consumed.
High Fat Extruded Protein Product and Method of Making
A method of preparing a high fat extruded protein product includes feeding water, a first fat, and a blend of plant proteins to an extruder to produce an extruded protein mixture. The extruded protein mixture is directed through a cooling die and divided into pieces, with the pieces being subsequently tumbled with oil. The resulting high fat extruded protein product will have at least 15-23% total fat by weight and, upon cooking, exhibits a desirable grease-out effect (e.g., reminiscent of a traditional pepperoni product). The blend of plant proteins preferably includes soy protein, wheat gluten and a grain or starch-based ingredient, and makes up at least 40-50%, by weight, of the high fat extruded protein product.
Coating composition and method of making and using the same
The present disclosure provides a coating composition including a pectin and a non-glycerol sugar alcohol. The pectin can be present in an amount by weight of at least 30.0% and at most 50.0%. The non-glycerol sugar alcohol can be present in an amount by weight of at least 10.0%) and at most 40.0%. The pectin can be present in a ratio of at least 1:1 and at most 5:1 relative to the non-glyercol sugar alcohol. The present disclosure also provides coating suspensions, coatings, and coated substrates related to the coating composition. The present disclosure also provides methods of making and using the coating compositions.
