This process comprises the steps of: providing a mould (102) having a mould cavity (S′) that is delimited, at least partially, by at least one mobile wall (106); positioning the product (P) in the mould cavity by setting the outer side (p1) in a position facing and at a distance from the mobile wall; introducing granular material in the gap (112) comprised between the mobile wall (106) and the outer side of the product; and moving the mobile wall (106) towards the outer side of the product so that it comes to press the granular material against the outer side (p1) of the product (P).

By way of preparation the frozen product roll, after optionally being defrosted, is heated by being baked or deep-fried until the core is at least no more than just defrosted, while the batter layer with the crumb layer has formed into a crispy outer layer. The product is thus given a directly consumable form.

More particularly, the invention relates to apparatus and methods for associating foodstuff and liquid with a base. Foodstuff may include food items such as meats, vegetables, cheeses, amongst others. Liquids include those food items that have a low viscosities (e.g. sauces, dressings, oils), high viscosities (e.g. peanut butter, frosting), and anything in between. A base can be anything on which foodstuff or liquid may be associated (e.g. bread, cake, cookies, pizza dough, a bowl in which to place foodstuff).

System and method for dispensing toppings

A system for dispensing toppings onto a topping vehicle may include a hopper platform, hoppers, a retaining plate, a blade, and a hopper-advancing pin. The hoppers each include a hopper bracket slidably engaging the hopper platform. The blade is mounted on the retaining plate and may reciprocate relative to the retaining plate. The hopper-advancing pin is movable relative to the hoppers between deployed and stowed positions. The hopper-advancing pin may engage one of the hopper brackets in the deployed position such that movement of the retaining plate between retracted and extended positions causes movement of the hopper bracket and a respective hopper along a length of the hopper platform. The hopper-advancing pin may be disengaged from the hopper brackets in the deployed stowed position to allow movement of the retaining plate between the retracted and extended positions without causing movement of the hopper brackets.
