A filter is used for removing metallic contaminants in a solvent used in microcircuit fabrication. The filter includes a filter housing including a filter membrane for filtering solvent including metallic contaminants, and a magnet arranged about the filter housing and configured to generate a magnetic field to attract the metallic contaminants prior to the metallic contaminants entering the filter membrane. The magnet is arranged such that the magnetic field of the magnet is greater in a periphery of the filter housing compared to a central portion of the filter housing.

The present disclosure describes a filtration device that includes a housing that includes a first tubular section connected to a second tubular section, wherein the first tubular section extends along a longitudinal axis and includes an open end that forms a fluid inlet of the housing, a closed end opposite the open end, and a connection opening positioned between the open and closed ends, and wherein the second tubular section includes a first open end connected to the connection opening of the first tubular section and a second open end that forms a fluid outlet of the housing; and a filter that is arranged inside of the first tubular section and that extends along the longitudinal axis of the first tubular section; wherein the filter includes an electromagnet configured to generate a magnetic field that surrounds at least the first tubular section and attracts metal contaminants in a fluid to the filter. A heat exchange apparatus for removing magnetic particulates from a gas stream, including a rotating element basket having a regenerative heat exchanger and at least one magnetic element. A method of removing magnetic particulates from a gas stream, including heating the regenerative heat exchanger during a first portion of a cycle as a segment of the rotating element basket passes through a first zone wherein contact is made with a flue gas thereby accumulating any magnetic particulates as they are attached to the magnetic element. Then cleaning a portion of the magnetic element during a second portion of the cycle. And cooling the regenerative heat exchanger and simultaneously heating an inlet air stream during a third portion of the cycle as the segment of the rotating element basket passes through a third zone wherein fluidic contact is made with the air inlet stream.

Provided herein are apparatuses and systems for mixing liquids and suspensions that include vessels with structures that improve mixing while not contacting liquid delivery components. The apparatuses and systems can include a motor drive that allows speed and directional control of rotation of the vessel. The apparatuses and systems can include one or more magnets for separating magnetic beads in a suspension. Also provided are methods using said apparatuses and systems for mixing and separation processes.
Separation of ferrous materials
A sorting apparatus is provided for sorting selected magnetically attractable articles from a stream of articles including non-selected magnetically attractable articles. The apparatus may include a conveyor for conveying the stream of articles. The conveyor may include a conveyor belt formed in an endless loop including a discharge end configured to launch the stream of articles off the conveyor. A conveyor guide may be located inside of the endless loop adjacent the discharge end. The conveyor guide may be configured to support the conveyor belt such that the conveyor belt slides on the conveyor guide along a downwardly curved path. An array of magnets may be arranged inside of the endless loop for interacting with the stream of articles as the stream of articles passes off the discharge end.
