FLUID DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A fluid dispenser including a body, a chamber coupled to or formed as part of the body and configured to contain a quantity of fluid, and a piston coupled to the body and rotatable within the chamber to different position. The piston is movable relative to the chamber in a first direction along an axis to draw fluid into the chamber, and the piston is movable relative to the chamber in a second direction opposite the first direction to discharge fluid from the chamber. The piston has stroke lengths that are selectable via the different rotational positions of the piston and that are associated with metered quantities of fluid to be drawn into the chamber. An anti-reversal feature is disposed between the piston and the body. The anti-reversal feature inhibits reversal of the piston during movement of the piston in the first direction or the second direction.
Down-locked pump with chaplet vent and beaded seal
A dispensing pump capable of withstanding the rigors of “e-commerce” shipping conditions is described. The pump dispenser is integrated with the container's closure. The pump includes a lock-down mechanism to prevent the pump actuator from extending during shipment, while a vented chaplet and an optional beaded seal proximate to the dip tube connection ensure that fluid cannot leak out of the container or the pump.
All-plastic emulsion pump
An all-plastic emulsion pump, includes a body, threads, pressing head, main column, suction tube, plastic spring, pull rod, stopper, lock cover, first and second one-way valve devices made of plastic material. A communication port is between the plastic spring and the main column. The pull rod is in the plastic spring. The stopper is connected to the pull rod upper end. When the plastic spring is pressed, there is a gap between the pull rod and the side wall of the communication port. When the plastic spring pops up, the stopper blocks the communication port. The first one-way valve device is between the pressing head and the main column to supply the emulsion to the pressing head. The second one-way valve device is between the plastic spring and the inlet of the body to supply the emulsion from the inlet of the body into the plastic spring.
Lotion pump
A lotion pump includes a movable portion and a stationary portion. A shifting mechanism is formed on the movable portion and the stationary portion, which shifts the elastic restoring mechanism of the lotion pump between a standby state and a non-standby state as the movable portion rotates or moves up and down. The structure of the lotion pump can prevent the spring from yielding due to compressed for a long time, while can also realize a form of locking at lower position.
Cosmetic container having retractable button
Provided is a cosmetic container having a retractable button including: a container body filled with contents; a pump part arranged on the upper portion of the container body in order to discharge the contents externally through a pumping action; and a button part arranged on the upper portion of the pump part to make the pumping action carried out by the user's pressing and releasing action, the button part having a discharge part to discharge the contents externally, wherein the button part has an inhalation space formed inside the button part, and the inhalation space is communicated with the discharge part, is increased or decreased in volume according to pressurization and release of the button part in order to inhale the contents remaining in the discharge part.
RECIPROCAL PUMPS
Disclosed are a pressure regulator for reciprocating pumps comprising an audible low pressure blow off and pumps comprising the pressure regulator. Also described is a pump comprising a larger diameter barrel with a higher volume for inflating an inflatable object at a lower pressure and a smaller diameter barrel with a lower volume for inflating an inflatable object at a higher pressure, wherein the pump is switchable to operate using either the larger diameter barrel or the smaller diameter barrel using a single lever attached to an end cap of the smaller diameter barrel.
Pump dispensers
A pump dispenser has a pump body and a reciprocable plunger with a lock-down mechanism, comprising internal or external lock formations of the plunger and body, such as thread formations, by which the plunger can be locked down for shipping and released subsequently by a rotational release movement. To supplement security for demanding shipping conditions the dispenser also has a supplementary catch mechanism in which respective catch formations of the plunger and body engage selectively in the locked-down position to inhibit the rotational release movement. The catch formations may have circumferentially-directed surfaces which engage between the underside of a plunger head having a shroud and a nozzle and the top of the body beneath the plunger head. They can be released by resilient deformation of one or more of the catch formations.
PUMPING DEVICE
A pumping device (100), comprising a movable part and a fixed part. The movable part is capable of reciprocating relative to the fixed part, thereby dispensing, by means of a straw (30) connected to the fixed part, a product contained in a container (20). The pumping device (100) comprises elastic members (150, 250, 350, 550, 650, 850, 950, 1050), one end of each of the elastic members (150, 250, 350, 550, 650, 850, 950, 1050) is connected or supported on the movable part, and the other end of each of the elastic members (150, 250, 350, 550, 650, 850, 950, 1050) is connected or supported on the container (20), or is supported on the container (20) by means of the fixed part. The pumping device (100) having the described structure allows the elastic members (150, 250, 350, 550, 650, 850, 950, 1050) to be fabricated using plastic, and is also capable of obtaining the required elasticity.
Method for the re-filling of a travel dispenser with product and travel dispenser
A method is provided for the re-filling with product of a travel dispenser (10) which has two assemblies (12, 14) which are connected together mechanically for dispensing the product. A first assembly (12) includes a bottle (10) of the product, a venting passage which is able to be opened to connect the interior and the exterior of the bottle and a pump (22) mounted on the bottle which is able to assume an upper rest position in which the passage is closed and a lower position in which the passage is open. A second assembly (14) includes a product dispensing device (16). The method includes blocking of the pump (22) in the lower position, and disengagement of the two assemblies (12, 14) from one another in order to allow the bottle (10) to be re-filled with product through the open venting passage of the first assembly (12) in re-fill mode.
Dispenser pumps and dispensers
A dispenser pump has a plunger operable in a body including an outer cylinder body having a vent opening in its sidewall and a body insert fitting into the top of the outer body and providing an external collar through which the plunger stem operates. The body insert has lock-down threads to lock down the plunger for shipping. The insert also has formations for blocking or unblocking the vent opening by rotation between the outer body and body insert, driven by rotation of the plunger head which makes a catch engagement with the top of the body insert. This plunger head rotation is the locking or unlocking action for the plunger lock-down. Blocking the vent during shipping reduces leakage.
