A mesh for use in a mesh nebuliser. The mesh 300 comprises a first plurality of apertures 310 extending through the mesh 300, the first plurality of apertures 310 having a first average diameter and a second plurality of apertures 320 extending through the mesh 300, the second plurality of apertures 320 having a second average diameter. The first average diameter is different to the second average diameter. The first average diameter may be sized to produce droplet of 1-5 μm, whereas the second average diameter may be sized to produce droplets of 5-30 μm. There is also provided a mesh nebuliser having the present mesh.

A material applicator for controlling application of at least one material on a substrate includes a housing and an array plate with an applicator array positioned within the housing. The applicator array has a plurality of micro-applicators and each of the plurality of micro-applicators has an ultrasonic transducer, a material inlet, a reservoir, and a micro-applicator plate with a plurality of apertures. The applicator plate is in mechanical communication with the ultrasonic transducer such that at least one material is ejected through the plurality of apertures as atomized droplets when the ultrasonic transducer vibrates the micro-applicator plate.
Paint dispensing method and apparatus involving a vibrating membrane
A fluid dispensing apparatus and liquid container with a fluid dispensing apparatus are provided. The fluid dispensing apparatus includes a valve body defining a bore that extends at least partially through a valve body, and an adaptor including a piercing member positioned to pierce a pierceable membrane enclosing the liquid container. The adaptor also includes a releasable fastener that cooperates with a portion of the liquid container to releasably couple the valve body to the liquid container. A liquid droplet production apparatus of the fluid dispensing apparatus controls a discharge of the liquid from the liquid container. The liquid droplet production apparatus includes a perforate membrane, and an actuator that is selectively operable to vibrate the perforate membrane and cause liquid droplets to be emitted from the perforate membrane and projected generally away from the liquid container.
Method And Apparatus For Atomizing And Vaporizing Liquid
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for atomizing and vaporizing liquid. An apparatus works as a fluid capsule and pumps air saturated with liquid and carrying a mist of tiny droplets sized at or less than about 2 μm in diameter. The pump may have a vibrator attached to the liquid reservoir to cause liquid to move up through the outlet valve and out through an orifice located on the top of the capsule. One or more droplets of liquid ejected from the ejector may be heated and vaporized into the air. The design of the fluid capsule ensures that there is no larger droplet size of liquid that is allowed to come out. The fluid can be air-freshener, air-sanitizer, disinfectant, insect repellent or any other liquid.
DROPLET EJECTOR WITH TREATED SURFACE
A droplet delivery device includes an ejector mechanism with an ejector mesh or similar substrate with apertures that is treated by one or more of coatings, roughening, metal layer deposition and laser ablation to provide desirable production and size of droplets, such as in an inhaled aerosol from the device.

A liquid ejection device includes: a nozzle through which a liquid is ejected; a liquid transport pipe that transports the liquid to the nozzle; and a vibrator that is configured to generate a vibration. The vibrator is in contact with at least one of the liquid, the nozzle, and the liquid transport pipe, and a vibration frequency generated by the vibrator is higher than a self-droplet formation frequency, the self-droplet formation frequency is defined as the number of droplets of the liquid passing through a predetermined position per unit time in a state in which the vibrator does not generate the vibration.

A device and method for delivering a fluid as an ejected stream of droplets during inhalation uses inertial filtering to cause a first plurality of droplet particles generated by an ejector mechanism to pass through an airflow exit while a second plurality of droplet particles having a greater mass mean aerodynamic diameter than the first plurality of droplet particles fails to pass through the airflow exit.

The electronic cigarette has a simple atomization mode and directly atomizes the tobacco material by means of the high frequency vibration and heat of the piezoelectric ceramic.
