Method of applying adhesive to an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical compressor liner and an adhesive applicator apparatus therefor
An apparatus is provided for applying adhesive to a compressor liner having a longitudinal central axis. A first roller has a longitudinal central axis and has an outer circumferential surface which is immersed in adhesive in an adhesive sink. A second roller has a longitudinal central axis and is radially spaced apart from the first roller. The second roller has same outer diameter as the first roller and has an outer circumferential surface which is not immersed in adhesive in the adhesive sink. The first and second rollers cooperate to support the compressor liner for rotation about its longitudinal central axis. A drive mechanism includes a constant speed drive for rotating the first and second rollers about their longitudinal central axes at a constant rotational speed to allow a consistent weight and uniform layer of adhesive to be transferred from the first roller to the compressor liner.

GLUE DELIVERY SYSTEM
A glue delivery system and method for providing precise application of glue on a substrate. A bead of glue is extruded from a first glue chamber to a leading edge of the substrate. A trailing edge of the substrate is blown off and over to the nozzle to receive a smear of glue from a second glue chamber. A gear pump is controlled by a servo drive that is connected to a servomotor utilizing a gear reducer. The pump regulates the extrusion of the glue onto the substrate that is programmed with empirical data of gear reducer ratio at which the glue flows within a constant speed, torque, current, speed and position of the glue. The empirical data is provided to a programmable logic circuit to achieve a precise pressure related to volume of a glue deposition and speed of the substrate onto which the glue is applied.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPLYING A LIQUID COATING TO A SUBSTRATE
System and methods for calibrating a coating system are disclosed. Initially, a material is dispensed using an applicator of the coating system for a predetermined time period. A characteristic of the dispensing of the material for the predetermined time period is then determined. The characteristic of the dispensing of the material is compared to a predetermined range and it is determined that the characteristic of the dispensing of the material is outside of the predetermined range. In response, a velocity of the applicator, a pulse rate of the applicator, a temperature of the material, a pressure of the material supplied to the applicator, or a fan width of the applicator is adjusted to change the characteristic of the dispensing of the material.
Assembly tool and assembly system for connecting components
An assembly system with a sealant application station and an assembly tool is described. The assembly system is used to connect two or more components to each other. The sealant application station applies a sealant to a connector. The sealant application station is arranged in a feed system for the connectors. The sealant-applied connectors are transferred to the assembly tool. The assembly tool contains a drill spindle in which a connector and a drill can be axially aligned with each other so that the drill spindle can both drill a hole in the components to be connected and position the connector in the drilled hole with a linear movement along a processing axis. For these operations, the drill spindle moves only along the processing axis, so that a linear drive can be used for these operations.
Liner machine for applying sealing compound
A liner machine for applying a sealing compound to a can end or lid. The liner machine includes a motor drive dual turret system. The turret system is installed at the top of a table or platform surface and two turrets rotate in opposition directions from one another, simultaneously or independently at same or different times. Each turret includes a plurality of workstations which extend out from each turret facing away from each other. The workstations receive an individual lid, which is delivered via a starwheel from a downstacker to each turret system. Each rotates in a direction that is opposite the direction that its respective turret system rotates, and in a direction that is opposite the direction that the other starwheel rotates. Sealant injectors in the turret systems apply sealant to each lid as the lids rotate around each turret system.

Sealant Coating Apparatus and Sealant Coating Method
A sealant coating apparatus and a sealant coating method are provided. The sealant coating apparatus includes a sealant injection head and an ultraviolet lamp. The ultraviolet lamp is at least disposed at a side of the sealant injection head. Upon sealant being coated on a substrate with the sealant injection head, the ultraviolet lamp is configured to pre-cure an inner side of the sealant. The sealant coating apparatus and the sealant coating method can be used in a sealant coating process.
Method for lining container closures
A method of lining container closures includes providing a liner machine base including a number of fluid dispensing apparatus fixed in a stationary position on the base, conveying a plurality of container closures to the fluid dispensing apparatus using a conveying assembly, manipulating each of the container closures with respect to a corresponding one of the fluid dispensing apparatus as the fluid dispensing apparatus remains stationary and dispenses a sealant, lining a plurality of the container closures with said sealant, and, discharging the container closures from the liner machine.
