Adaptor for increasing efficiency of a caulking procedure
The disclosed device is an adapter to an existing caulking methodology. The adapter is configured to perform the activity of protective taping, scraping and cleaning of excess compound to occur simultaneously with caulking. The disclosed adapter removably attaches to cannister holding cradle of a calking gun. At least one front roller presses a strip of tape against a side of an area being caulked or finished, with tape being drawn from a tape roller in back of the front roller.
Hand tool for application of a viscous material with movable guide
A tool for applying a viscous material to a surface. The tool comprises: a body having a frame including at least a partial wall defining a cavity having a size for removably receiving a dispensing container that contains the viscous material; a dispensing assembly that is operatively coupled to the body and has a forcing member for applying force to the dispensing container to dispense the viscous material; (3) a control element attached to the body for controlling the application of the applied force by the movable member of the dispensing assembly; and (4) a guide movably attached to the body, the guide being movable between an operating position and a storage position.
Apparatus for extrusive dispensing of work material having adaptively adjustable containment vessel retention
An applicator apparatus is provided for extrusively dispensing work material from a containment vessel, A base portion includes a handle and a control member. A cage portion coupled to the base portion defines a receiving compartment for at least one containment vessel. The cage portion is provided with a proximate end disposed adjacent the base portion and an intermediate section extending longitudinally therefrom to a distal end. A drive portion coupled to the base portion is actuated responsive to the control member for driving extrusion of the work material from the containment vessel. A clasp portion displaceably coupled to the cage portion is displaceable relative to the cage portion between first and second positions, where the second position is disposed along the intermediate section of the cage portion. The clasp portion forms a cuff about the receiving compartment of the cage portion for laterally retaining the containment vessel received therein.
Hot melt glue gun having needle valve
A hand-held hot melt glue gun having a melt chamber, a needle and a nozzle that is movable with respect to the needle to open or close a discharge port in fluid communication with the melt chamber. A spring closure urges the needle and nozzle toward relative positions to close the discharge port. An opening element moves the nozzle with respect to the needle to open the discharge port, and a trigger mechanism is provided for advancing solid glue into the melt chamber and for operating the opening element. A time delay mechanism provides a time delay between the opening of the discharge port and advancement of glue into the melt chamber.
Dripless Caulking Gun
A dripless caulking gun comprises a low friction bushing to enhance a dripless function by allowing the rod to retract more smoothly during the “dripless” phase of operation. The bushing may be changed to accommodate either a round rod or a hex shaped rod. Novel bushing designs allow rotation of the round rods but constrain the rotation of the hex shaped rods.
Piston assembly for a cartridge discharging device
A piston assembly including a piston for a cartridge discharging device for discharging a pasty compound out of a cartridge which has an inner wall, having a piston and a rear face which can be acted upon by a pressure plate secured to a push rod, a front face opposite the rear face, and a retaining element which secures the pressure plate against the rear face by a retaining protrusion which covers an edge of the pressure plate in a retaining position. The retaining protrusion is secured to the piston in a movable manner into a release position in a direction away from the push rod.
USE OF MODIFIED CELLULOSIC THERMOPLASTIC TO PRODUCE CLEAR CAULK CARTRIDGE
A caulk cartridge for use with high organic solvent caulk is disclosed. The cartridge includes a cartridge body formed as an open-ended elongate cylindrical tube having a first end, a second end, and an inner surface, a nozzle affixed to the first end of the cartridge body, and a plunger engaging with the inner surface of the cartridge body and forming a seal at the second end and slidable along a longitudinal axis of the cartridge body from the second end toward the first end. The cartridge body is manufactured from a cellulosic thermoplastic with a high organic solvent barrier.
