A method for activating an ultrasound applicator for treating skin tissue as part of a cosmetic treatment, including: activating by a control console at least one ultrasound transducers of the ultrasound applicator configured to generate and deliver ultrasound energy to cosmetically treat skin tissues; identifying degradation in potential efficiency of the ultrasound energy delivery during the activating; and modifying the activating according to the results of the identifying.

Devices for analysis of a fluid

An ultrasonic transducer is described, including a piezoelectric element, a fluid medium contact layer, a matching layer between the piezoelectric element and the fluid medium contact layer, and a backing layer. Ultrasound sensor devices utilising the ultrasonic transducer are also described, for use in systems for analysing a fluid such as milk.

COMPACT ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCERS FOR INTRAORAL USES

The present disclosure describes an ultrasound sensor for soft-tissue imaging comprising: a piezoelectric element having a front side to be used for emitting ultrasound signals and for receiving echoed ultrasound signals to be measured and a back side; and a backing element having a front side shaped to match the shape of the piezoelectric element back side, the backing element being made of a structured composite material comprising at least two base material, one of the two base material being a metal, the at least two base material having significant different acoustic impedance so that the backing element has an acoustic attenuation greater than 1.2 dB/mm/Mhz.

Ultrasound probe with improved thermal management

A transducer assembly operable to transmit ultrasonic energy in a desired direction towards a zone adapted to be acoustically coupled to an object or area of interest is provided that has: a transducer layer; a backing layer disposed behind said transducer layer with respect to the desired direction; a back-matching layer disposed between the transducer layer and the backing layer to reflect towards said transducer layer part of the ultrasonic energy directed from the transducer layer to the backing layer; and a heat transfer layer disposed between the back-matching layer and the backing layer to drain heat from the transducer assembly. A process for manufacturing a transducer assembly is also disclosed.
