Apparatus and method for delivery of concentrated disinfectant or sterilant to lumen of medical instrument

A method for reprocessing a medical device uses a medical device processor with an enclosure for holding the medical device. The enclosure also has a reservoir containing a disinfectant, a water source, and a mixing chamber that retains the medical device. The method delivers disinfectant from the reservoir to an internal channel of the medical device, and further delivers water from the water source to the mixing chamber. A flow sensor is operable to monitor the disinfectant delivered to the internal channels of the medical device.

A cleaning system and method includes suspending and exploding, adjacent a bank of HRSG finned-tubing, a plurality of generally uniformly spaced detonation cords. Each detonation cord has an explosive grain loading of 18-50 grains per foot. A detonation delay assembly attached to each of the plurality of detonation cords creates a predetermined delay between each detonation cord explosion. After the detonation cords are exploded, a suspended elongated beam, having a transport assembly and a pressurized air blower assembly directs pressurized air towards an adjacent the bank of HRSG finned-tubing as the pressurized air blower assembly is moved along a portion of the beam. A suspension assembly moves the beam, the transport assembly, and the pressurized air blower assembly up or down so that a next portion of the bank of HRSG finned-tubing may be cleaned by the pressurized air.

SIMULTANEOUSLY UNBLOCKING MULTIPLE VALVE FITTINGS

A method for simultaneously unblocking multiple blocked valve fittings is described. The method includes coupling a tool to unblock multiple valve fittings simultaneously to a valve with multiple valve fitting blocked to fluid flow. The tool includes a pressure vessel holding a cleaning fluid, an input conduit fluidically coupled to the pressure vessel to flow the cleaning fluid from a cleaning fluid source to the pressure vessel and to adjust a pressure of the pressure vessel, and injection conduits to flow the cleaning fluid from the pressure vessel to the valve fittings. The method includes simultaneously flowing the cleaning fluid from the pressure vessel through the injection conduits to the valve fittings. Responsive to flowing the cleaning fluid to the valve fitting, the valve fittings are unblocked.

Internal clean-in-place method and apparatus

A Clean in Place assembly for a food processor includes a self-cleaning valve assembly, wherein the self-cleaning valve assembly is in fluid communication with a food flow path in the food processor. The self-cleaning valve assembly includes a valve receiving chamber and valve configured to selectively fluidly connect a food flow path inlet port to a food flow path outlet port; fluidly connect the food flow path inlet port to a multivalent port; and fluidly connect a treating solution to a dead space between the valve and the valve receiving cavity. Food product can be selectively drained or retained in food flow path, wherein the self-cleaning valve can be continuously or intermittently exposed to a treating solution for treating non-food flow path portions of the self-cleaning valve assembly.

An apparatus for the maintenance and operation of an air-cooled heat exchanger (ACHE) includes a plurality of spray tubes provided with spaced-apart nozzles permanently positioned between the finned heat exchange tubes and longitudinally aligned within the region of the finned-tube pitch. The apparatus is operable in several modes, including cleaning where the flow of air is stopped and temperature-controlled pressurized water with an optional cleaning agent is discharged from the nozzles to dislodge dirt and debris from the finned surfaces while simultaneously cooling the hot process liquid. When extremes of ambient air temperatures preclude the forced air fans from achieving the target temperature range of the process liquid passing through the ACHE, refrigerated pressurized cooled water and compressed air in the form of a mist is discharged from the nozzles, or alternatively, pressurized heated air is discharged from the nozzles.

Drain line cleaning system

A drain line cleaning system including a housing, a pump carried by the housing, a line cleaning agent carrying tube in communication with the pump, a controller in communication with the pump, and a power supply carried by the housing and connected to the pump and the controller. The line cleaning agent carrying tube includes an intake that is connectable to a reservoir that carries line cleaning agent and an output that is connectable to a drain line. The controller controls the pump to function to withdraw the line cleaning agent from the reservoir and causes the line cleaning agent to be expelled through the output.

Method and apparatus for improved electrospray emitter lifetime

A method for cleaning an electrospray emitter of a mass spectrometer comprises the steps of: (a) changing a mode of operation of the electrospray emitter from a stable jet mode of operation to a dripping mode or a pulsating mode of operation by lowering a magnitude, |V|, of a voltage applied between a counter electrode and the electrospray emitter; and (b) changing the mode of operation of the electrospray emitter from the dripping mode or the pulsating mode of operation to the stable jet mode of operation by increasing the magnitude, |V|, of the applied voltage; wherein the repetitions are performed at a predetermined frequency that depends on one or more of liquid flow rate, an emitter internal diameter, and liquid properties.
