The invention provides compositions for producing hydrogen rich water, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other products. In one embodiment, the invention provides a composition, e.g., a tablet, including magnesium metal, at least one water-soluble acid, and a binding agent. The magnesium metal and at least one water-soluble acid may be present in amounts sufficient to maintain a pH of less than 7, e.g., at a specific time period after reaction, and a concentration of at least 0.5 mM H.sub.2 after reaction in 50 mL water in a container e.g., a sealed or an open container, e.g., at least 0.5 mM H.sub.2 after reaction in 100 mL water or at least 0.5 mM H.sub.2 after reaction in 500 mL water. The composition may also include a lubricant.

Provided herein are compositions that are useful as binding agents for clusters, bars, and other food applications where various components need to be adhered to each other. The binding agents comprise a wheat protein isolate in combination with flour and water.

A molded food product which has an excellent shape retention property as well as causes little scorch of the ingredient, particularly carbonization of carbohydrates during production, and a method for producing such molded food product are provided. The molded food product contains a binder including a koji-fermented grain liquid composition. The fermented grain liquid composition is preferably amazake, sake cake, or mixtures thereof.

Provided is a composition which comprises (a) okara or whole soy or a mixture thereof, and (b) a fiber-containing pectin product or pectin, wherein the weight ratio between components (a) and (b) is from 0.1:1 to 75:1. The composition is useful for increasing the cohesion of solid food, such as soy patties.

Methods for manufacturing organic dietary supplements are provided. The method comprises adding an aqueous granulating solution to an organic dietary supplement formulation to improve compressibility of the supplement, wherein the aqueous granulating solution comprises organic gum arabic. The process for preparing an organic dietary supplement and improving its compressibility and flowability is also provided. Methods for manufacturing non-organic dietary supplements are further provided.

Methods for manufacturing organic dietary supplements are provided. The method comprises adding an aqueous granulating solution to an organic dietary supplement formulation to improve compressibility of the supplement, wherein the aqueous granulating solution comprises organic gum arabic. The process for preparing an organic dietary supplement and improving its compressibility and flowability is also provided. Methods for manufacturing non-organic dietary supplements are further provided.

Provided are food products that have structures, textures, and other properties comparable to those of animal meat, and that may therefore serve as substitutes for animal meat. Also provided are processes for production of such ground meat-like food products.

A non-tobacco formulation for oral administration in dry form includes a non-tobacco tea-like composition comprising plant material, an additive mixed with the composition and responsive to being wetted by a user's saliva to cause gaseous bubbles to be released and provide a popping or cracking sensation in the user's mouth, and a liquid-porous container (e.g., a pouch) having walls enclosing the composition and additive therein while permitting liquid to pass therethrough. Alternatively the additive may coat the pouch walls.
