20240261873 · 2024-08-08 ·

A chuck (10) for use with a power driver having a rotatable drive spindle. The chuck may include a sleeve (60) comprising a sleeve tightening surface (62) that may be configured to engage with a nut tightening surface (502) to tighten a nut (50) when the sleeve is rotated into a tightening position. With the sleeve disposed in a sleeve locked position, a click pawl (732) may be engaged with a click stopping edge (771) of one of the plurality of click teeth (756) to inhibit rotation of the nut in a first rotational direction to loosen the nut. A lock pawl (722) may also be engaged with a lock stopping edge (761) of one of the plurality of lock teeth (755) to inhibit rotation of the sleeve in a second rotational direction due to the inertia in the sleeve that would tend to further tighten the nut.

Drill chuck

A drill chuck having a chuck body, on which a threaded ring is guided, which is in engagement with rows of teeth assigned to clamping jaws for the purpose of adjusting the clamping jaws having a thread and guided in the chuck body, as well as comprising a clamping sleeve which surrounds the chuck body and may be coupled with the threaded ring in a torque-transmitting manner and which may be coupled with the chuck body by a locking device. The locking device is formed by a locking sleeve, which has a lock toothing and is rotatably fixedly connected to the threaded ring and which is axially movable between a drilling configuration and a clamping configuration relative to the threaded ring and the clamping sleeve; the locking device is also formed by a mating toothing assigned to the chuck body.

A drill chuck having a chuck body connectable to a drilling spindle, in which are arranged clamping jaws in guide seats extending at an angle to the chuck axis, which are movable for opening and closing via a threaded ring that is arranged to be immovable relative to the chuck body. A locking device includes a coaxial ring of locking recesses as well as a locking element that is engaged in the locking recesses under the force of a locking spring. An adjusting ring rotatable to a limited extent between stops, the rotation of which adjusts the locking element. A detent device creating two detent positions in the circumferential direction. Attached to the axially forward section of the chuck body in a rotationally fixed and axially immovable manner is a locking sleeve that carries the ring of locking recesses and serves to axially secure the threaded ring.

Chuck device

[Problem] A chuck device capable of reliable locking with a simple structure is provided. [Solution] A chuck device (1) including a plurality of balls (41); a retainer (42) which holds the balls (41) so as to be rolled; a spring ring (34) configured to rotate together with a nut ring (33) and to switch between a rotation restricted state in which the retainer (42) is restricted in a loosening direction (L) and a restriction released state in which the restriction of the retainer (42) in the loosening direction (L) is released; and a one-way spring (31) which restricts the retainer (42) in the loosening direction (L) relative to a chuck body (11), in which the plurality of balls (41), the retainer (42) and the one-way spring (31) configure a one-way bearing mechanism (50) restricted in the loosening direction (L) provided between the nut ring (33) and the chuck body (11), and the retainer (42) in the rotation restricted state configures a bearing and lock mechanism (30).

The chuck comprises a base body (1) having a central axis (12), an outer casing (2) axially fixed but rotatable about the central axis (12) outside the base body (1), the outer casing (2) having inner guides (15) and a plurality of jaws (3) movable along the inner guides (15), a fitting mechanism linking rotations of the outer casing (2) to movements of the jaws (3), and a locking device comprising a ratchet mechanism operated by an outer control sleeve (14). The ratchet mechanism comprises a toothed ring (5) fixed to the base body (1), a pawl fixed to a lever (10) pivotally mounted to the outer casing (2) about a pivot pin (9) parallel to the central axis (12), and an elastic element (28) urging the pawl (6) to engage 10 the toothed ring (5). The control sleeve (14) is rotatable and axially movable in cooperation with a cam (8).

A chuck for a power tool includes a chuck body extending along a longitudinal axis. The chuck also includes a plurality of jaws, each with a jaw end, and each movable along a respective jaw axis between a closed position and an open position. Each respective jaw axis is oriented at an oblique angle relative to the longitudinal axis. A biasing member is coupled to the jaws and is operable to bias the jaws toward the closed position. The biasing member includes a spring. The chuck also includes a rotating assembly selectively engageable with the jaws such that, when engaged, the jaws are movable in response to rotation of the rotating assembly. The biasing member includes a guide sleeve coupled to each of the jaws and movable axially along the longitudinal axis in response to each of the jaws moving along its respective jaw axis.

The chuck with locking device has a ratchet mechanism comprising a toothed ring (5) with asymmetrical teeth (5a) fixed to an outer casing (2), a ratchet ring (9) arranged such that it can slide but not rotate with respect to a base body (1) and provided with tabs (11) or teeth (9a) providing ratchet interlocking elements, a release elastic element arranged under compression between the ratchet ring (9) and the toothed ring (5), a locking ring (7) arranged adjacent to the ratchet ring (9) outside the base body (1) and fixed inside a locking control sleeve (14), a cam groove (8) formed in the locking ring (7), and a pin (13) inserted in the cam groove (8) and in a hole (30) formed in the base body (1). The locking control sleeve (14) moves the locking ring (7) and the ratchet ring (5) between locking and unlocking positions.

A chuck has a body (14). A plurality of first teeth (96) are rotationally fixed to the body. At least one second tooth (100) opposes the first teeth. The first teeth and the at least one second tooth are configured so that engagement of the first teeth and the at least one second tooth prevents relative rotation between a nut (16) and the body in an opening direction. A sleeve (18) defines a notch (90b) that engages a spring (29) so that in a relative rotational position between the sleeve and the nut, the notch receives the spring so that the notch resists relative rotational movement between the sleeve and the spring in the opening direction of the chuck.
