FIELD DISSIMILAR METAL WELDING TECHNOLOGY FOR ENHANCED WEAR RESISTANT HIGH MANGANESE STEEL
The present disclosure relates to a welding composition for joining high manganese steel base metals to low carbon steel base metals, as well as systems and methods for the same. The composition includes: carbon in a range of about 0.1 wt % to about 0.4 wt %; manganese in a range of about 15 wt % to about 25 wt %; chromium in a range of about 2.0 wt % to about 8.0 wt %; molybdenum in an amount of ≦ about 2.0 wt %; nickel in an amount of ≦ about 10 wt %; silicon in an amount of ≦ about 0.7 wt %; sulfur in an amount of ≦ about 100 ppm; phosphorus in an amount of ≦ about 200 ppm; and a balance comprising iron. In an embodiment, the composition has an austenitic microstructure.

Improved steel welds, article for making the same, and methods of making the same are provided. The present disclosure provides advantageous erosion, corrosion and/or cracking resistant weld metal. Hot-Formed Previously Welded Steel Part with very High Mechanical Resistance and Production Method
A welded steel part with a very high mechanical strength is provided. The welded steel part is obtained by heating followed by hot forming, then cooling of at least one welded blank obtained by butt welding of at least one first and one second sheet. The at least one first and second sheets including, at least in part, a steel substrate and a pre-coating which includes an intermetallic alloy layer in contact with the steel substrate, topped by a metal alloy layer of aluminum or aluminum-based alloy. A method for the fabrication of a welded steel part and the fabrication of structural or safety parts for automotive vehicles are also provided.
FLUX-CORED WIRE FOR GAS-SHIELDED ARC WELDING
A flux cored wire, which is obtained by filling the inside of a steel outer skin with a flux, is configured to have a composition that contains, in mass % relative to the total mass of the wire, 0.01-0.12% of C, 0.05% or more but less than 0.30% of Si, 1.0-3.5% of Mn, 0.1% or more but less than 1.0% of Ni, 0.10-0.30% of Mo, 0.1-0.9% of Cr, 4.5-8.5% of TiO.sub.2, 0.10-0.40% of SiO.sub.2, 0.03-0.23% of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and 80% or more of Fe.

ELECTRIC-RESISTANCE-WELDED STEEL PIPE OR TUBE FOR HOLLOW STABILIZER
Provided is an electric-resistance-welded steel pipe or tube for hollow stabilizer where the formation of not only a ferrite decarburized layer but also a total decarburization layer can be suppressed even when heat treatment is performed in the air so that a hollow stabilizer having excellent fatigue resistance can be obtained. The electric-resistance-welded steel pipe or tube for hollow stabilizer has a predetermined chemical composition, and the depths of total decarburized layers on an inner surface and on an outer surface are 100 μm or less.
Weld metal excellent in hydrogen embrittlement resistance
Disclosed is a weld metal which is formed by gas-shielded arc welding using a flux-cored wire, and which has a specific chemical composition, in which retained austenite particles are present in a number density of 2500 per square millimeter or more and in a total volume fraction of 4.0% or more based on the total volume of entire structures of the weld metal. The weld metal has excellent hydrogen embrittlement resistance and is resistant to cracking at low temperatures even when the weld metal has a high strength.
Metal cored welding wire that produces reduced manganese fumes and method
Various embodiments of a metal cored wires and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment of the present invention, a metal cored wire comprises a metal sheath and a metal-powder core material comprising manganese particles. The manganese particles are coated with a coating material to reduce the manganese fumes and exposure during welding.
