The power conversion apparatus includes a switch module, a power conversion module, a first processing module, and a second processing module, the power conversion module receives, by using the switch module, power discharged by a battery or charges the battery by using the switch module, the first processing module outputs a first on signal and a first start signal, and the second processing module outputs a second on signal and a second start signal. In response to the first on signal and the second on signal, the switch module connects the power conversion module to the battery. In response to the first start signal or the second start signal, the power conversion module starts. The first processing module and the second processing module are backups of each other.

A first overvoltage protection OVP threshold is set for the electronic device, and when a voltage of a battery is greater than the first OVP threshold, a power supply module is controlled not to supply power to a load; the power supply module is controlled not to charge a battery in a battery module; and the battery in the battery module is controlled to supply power to the load until the voltage of the battery is always less than a second OVP threshold in preset duration, where the second OVP threshold is less than the first OVP threshold.
