A portable UV-C disinfection apparatus, method, and system for ultraviolet germicidal irradiation. UV-C emitters may be coupled to an array housing having a planar array surface in a vertical configuration. UV-C sensors are configured to measure the amount of UV-C light or near UV-C light from a target surface. A controller may be communicably engaged with the UV-C sensors to determine the amount of UV-C radiation collected by the UV-C sensors. The controller includes instructions stored on a memory according to the amount of UV-C radiation collected corresponding to an effective kill-dose for surface disinfection. The improved apparatus, method, and system reduces exposure time by varying the intensity and wavelength of the UV-C administered, while concurrently reducing UV overexposure to surfaces by administering radiation through a rotational zonal application.

A hybrid germicidal irradiation apparatus, method, and system for multi-band germicidal irradiation. A first emitter, a second emitter and a third emitter may be coupled to a housing configured to be coupled to a ceiling of an interior room. The first emitter, the second emitter and the third emitter may respectively be operable to emit UV-C radiation at a wavelength of about 265 nanometers, near-UV radiation at a wavelength of about 405 nanometers and visible light at a wavelength greater than 405 nanometers. One or more radiation sensors may be configured to measure the amount of UV-C light, near UV-C light and/or visible light reflected from a target surface. A controller may be communicably engaged with the radiation sensors to calculate an amount of UV-C radiation, near-UV radiation and/or visible light delivered to a target surface or interior space.

WALL INSTALLATION MOTION SENSOR FOR UV LIGHT SOURCE
20260034256 · 2026-02-05 ·

A lighting fixture containing both visible light sources and UV light sources is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the fixture is an overhead fixture. UV light can sanitize/disinfect the surrounding environment over a period of about 30-45 minutes. In this way, viruses, germs, bacteria, mold, and the like can be destroyed to clean the air and/or surfaces (e.g., furniture) of the room exposed to UV light. Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention include a physical input device, such as a wall-mounted button, switch, or wireless device, that can safely and efficiently activate a lighting assembly to produce UV light in a way that protects occupants from unintentional exposure to UV light. This configuration is especially useful in situations where the use of UV light is regulated, such as in a hospital setting.
