A socket for rotatably fastening or unfastening a jackbolt of a multi jackbolt tensioner the socket extending between a first end and a second end such that the first end is adapted to receive the jackbolt, the socket comprising: a passage extending along a length of the socket to receive a head of the jackbolt, the passage being defined by a plurality of even-numbered internal side walls dimensioned to engage a plurality of sides of the head of the jackbolt received therein, the socket having a central axis with diametrically opposed pairs of said side walls being parallel to each other, and pairs of adjacent side walls meeting to form corner portions to receive corners of the jackbolt head; a plurality of guiding members arranged circumferentially about an opening of the passage to guide the head of the jackbolt into the passage and align the plurality of sides of the head of jackbolt such that corners of the jackbolt head are aligned into position with corner portions of said pairs of adjacent side walls.

ANTI-SLIP HEX ALLEN TOOL VARIATION
20230405772 · 2023-12-21 ·

A hex headed bit and socket for enhanced non-slip application of torque force having a hex head with fastener engagement surfaces. The fastener engagement surfaces extends in angular longitudinal inclination. Recessed areas on flat hexagonal free end tool portion defining alternate spaced right-angle pairs of parallel engagement edges correspondingly embed themselves during rotational engagement within the so engaged fastener pulling the hex head bit into the engaged fastener imparting enhanced translateral points of tool engagement for extraction.

Fastener compatible with helical toothed driver
10926384 · 2021-02-23 ·

A driver for applying torque to threaded fasteners has a plurality of teeth extending along and projecting outwardly from a longitudinal axis of a body on which the teeth are located. The teeth have a helical twist about the longitudinal axis. Each tooth has an angularly oriented engagement surface which is engageable with similarly angularly oriented surfaces within recesses in the head of a compatible fastener. When the driver engages the recesses torque applied to the driver draws the driver deeper into the recesses as the engagement surfaces react against and slide over the angularly oriented surfaces within the recesses. The torque also causes the fastener to turn and advance or retract depending upon the sense of the torque and the angles of the engagement surfaces and the angles of the surfaces within the recesses. The fastener and its method of manufacture are also disclosed.

Fastener Retention and Anti-Camout Tool Bit
20210086332 · 2021-03-25 · ·

A tool bit with a surface layer metallurgically bonded on a substrate layer using electrospark deposition (ESD) that allows the tool bit to reduce camout and engage a fastener head for one-handed starting and removal. The surface layer has a rougher finish, compared to conventional tool bits, and therefore better grips engagement surfaces of a mating recess of the fastener during use. The reduction of camout provides greater durability to the tool bit and resists erosion and wear of the engagement surfaces of the fastener.

SOCKET REMOVABLY ATTACHED TO A TOOL AND HAVING DRIVING PROTRUSIONS
20210205963 · 2021-07-08 ·

A socket is portably and removably attached to a tool and includes a body with a mounting hole which includes multiple faces. Each face includes a first protrusion and two groups of second protrusions located on two sides of the first protrusion. The first protrusion of each face includes a first flat distal surface which has a certain length. Each second protrusion includes a second flat distal surface which is tilt relative to the first flat distal surface. The two respective slopes of the second flat distal surfaces of the two groups of the second protrusions are opposite to each other. A first imaginary plane is co-linear with the first flat distal surface. A second imaginary plane is co-linear with the second flat distal surfaces of each second protrusion. An angle is formed between the first and second imaginary planes. The socket can drive a normal or rounded bolt.

Tool for use with a fastener

A tool for use with a fastener, more particularly, a medical screwdriver tool arranged to interact with a fastener has a driver body with a driver shaft, the driver shaft being associated with a tip configured for interaction with a fastener. The tool has an actuator arranged for reciprocal movement with respect to a longitudinal axis of the driver shaft between a first position proximal the tip and a second position distal the tip. The tip has first and second portions. The tool is configured for moving the first and second portions from a closed condition to an open condition upon movement of the actuator from the second position to the first position.

Rotational style tool bit assembly

A bit assembly includes a base block and a bit holder having a forward body portion and a generally cylindrical shank. The forward body portion includes a plurality of vanes that define a plurality of cavities or flutes configured to carry removable size pieces from a trenched area to the adjacent surface alongside a trenching machine. The spaced cavities are supported by the vertical vanes that also aid in removing the loosened material. The shank of the bit holder includes an annular groove configured to receive a bit retainer once the bit holder is inserted into a bore of a base block.

CLOSURE TOP DRIVER DEPTH LIMITER
20200397493 · 2020-12-24 ·

An apparatus to limit a seating depth of a fastener can include a cylindrical housing, a pin, a driver, and a biasing element. The cylindrical housing can include a proximal portion couplable to a tool, a distal portion engageable with a workpiece, and a bore extending from an opening on the distal portion towards the proximal portion along a longitudinal axis of the housing. The pin can be secured to the housing and can extend radially inward into the bore. The driver can be translatable within the bore of the housing and can extend beyond the opening on the distal portion to engage the fastener. The driver can include a slot that can be engageable with the pin to receive a torque from the pin and can rotate with the housing to transfer the torque to a fastener when the pin engages the slot.

Anti-Slip Torque Tool
20200391360 · 2020-12-17 ·

An anti-slip torque tool that utilizes a plurality of grooves to prevent slippage and facilitate torque transfer to a fastener. The tool includes a wrench torque-tool body and an at least one engagement element. The wrench torque-tool body includes a plurality of internal sidewalls, a first base, and a second base. Further, each of the internal sidewalls includes a bracing surface. The engagement element includes a first pair of grooves and a second pair of grooves, wherein each further includes a primary cavity and a secondary cavity. The engagement element is laterally integrated into a specific sidewall to provide additional gripping action. The first pair of grooves and the second pair of grooves are positioned offset from each other, along the bracing surface of the specific sidewall. The primary cavity and the secondary cavity each traverse normal and into the bracing surface from the first base to the second base.
