Conversion and application of material strips
A system for converting and attaching material strips to a substrate includes a dispenser configured to advance an elongated tape having length l1 and width w1 with l1>w1 relative to a surface of a substrate. A cutting tool cuts the elongated tape transversely along the width w1 of the tape to produce a strip having length l2 and width w2. During the cutting, a portion of the cutting Stool pushes a first surface of the strip against a gripper while cutting the tape. The gripper holds the first surface of the strip against the gripper while moving to position an opposing, second surface of the strip over the surface of the substrate. The gripper releases the strip after positioning the strip.
Cutter mechanism for a printer and methods of cutting paper media in a printer
A cutter mechanism for a printer is provided. The cutter mechanism comprises a rotary cutter and a straight blade assembly. The rotary cutter may be mounted for rotation about a rotation axis and for translation across at least a portion of a width of a paper path perpendicular to the rotation axis. The straight blade assembly may be mounted for rotation about a shaft and adapted to cooperate with the rotary cutter. The straight blade assembly comprises a straight blade extending across the width of the paper path. A printer mechanism cover is mounted coaxially on the shaft so as to be movable between a closed position and an open position. A portion of the cover may impact the straight blade assembly when the cover is moved from the closed position to the open position, causing the straight blade to be moved away from the rotary cutter.
SLIT DEVICE AND SHEET MANUFACTURING APPARATUS
A slit device including a first transport section which transports a web in a transport direction while nipping the web, a second transport section which is disposed in parallel with a direction intersecting the transport direction of the first transport section and which transports the web in the transport direction while nipping the web, and a cutting section which is disposed between the first transport section and the second transport section in a direction intersecting the transport direction and which cuts the web along the transport direction, in which a cutting position at which the web is cut by the cutting section is a position within a nipping area where the first transport section nips the web along the transport direction, or is a position downstream of the nipping area in the transport direction.
Cutter calibration
A cutter is positioned at a cutting position according to a virtual coordinate system. Media is cut at the cutting position using the cutter to create a cut. The actual location of the cut in the media is detected and the virtual coordinate system is calibrated based on an offset between the cutting position and the actual cut location.
PROCESSING DEVICE FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent article processing device includes a cutter roll and an anvil roll. The cutter roll includes a roll main body; a blade protruding in a radial direction in a first angular range of a part of a circumferential direction of the roll main body; a first bearer protruding in the radial direction in a second angular range of a part of the circumferential direction including at least the first angular range and being in contact with the anvil roll, and being cut out in an angular range excluding the second angular range at a first end portion in an axial direction of the roll main body; and a second bearer provided around the entire circumference or a part of the circumferential direction and being in contact with the anvil roll at the second end portion in an axial direction of the roll main body.
ROTARY DIES
Provided are rotary dies that can cut amorphous materials while having suppressed wear. The rotary dies are adapted to cut a target, and include an anvil roller, a die cutter, a first elastic portion, and a second elastic portion. The anvil roller rotates while supporting the target. The die cutter has a projecting edge for cutting the target and is configured to rotate. The first elastic portion is arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the anvil roller, and elastically deforms upon contacting the rear surface of the target when the target is cut. The second elastic portion is arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the die cutter, and elastically deforms upon contacting the front surface of the target when the target is cut. The hardness of the first elastic portion is greater than that of the second elastic portion.
ADJUSTABLE CUTTING AND CREASING HEADS FOR CREATING ANGLED CUTS AND CREASES
A converting machine is used to convert sheet material into packaging templates for assembly into boxes or other packaging. The converting machine includes a converting assembly that performs a transverse conversion function, a longitudinal conversion function, and an angled conversion function on the sheet material to create the packaging templates. The converting machine includes a tool head with a converting instrument. The orientation of the converting instrument is adjustable to enable performance of the angled conversion function and at least one of the longitudinal conversion function and the transverse conversion function.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF DUCT MEMBERS
An apparatus for forming and sealing a duct member for use in an air handling system. At least one work station accommodates a work piece, which is generally a cylindrical tube.
Method to form yarn via film fiberizing spinning
A method to form yarn via film fiberizing spinning belongs to a textile technical field. A film cutting device is arranged behind each drafting system on a ring frame, whose cut resistance apron and cutting roller engage with each other to form a cutting zone to cut and fiberize the film to get belt-like multi-filaments. Then the multi-filament formed passes through the first, second and third drafting zones in sequence for drawing, in such a manner that the multi-filament molecular orientation and crystallization are improved. After being drafted, the multi-filaments are twisted into yarn by ring spinning, which provides a novel high-efficient and short-processing way of producing yarns of nano-micro fibers using films instead of conventional nano-spun fibers such as electro- and centrifugal spun fibers, thereby breaking restriction of low bulk and low-speed production of nano-spun fibers and integrating the film industry with the textile industry.
