CUTTING DEVICE HAVING CUTTING BLADE RECIPROCALLY MOVABLE WITHIN MOVABLE RANGE AND PRINTING DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME
In a cutting device, a cutting blade is reciprocally movable within a movable range including a first retracted position away from a target to be cut and a cut complete position at which cutting of the target is to be completed. A memory is configured to store cutting data indicating the first retracted position. A controller is configured to perform controlling, in response to determining that the cutting blade has stopped at an intervening position between a cut start position at which cutting of the target is started and the cut complete position, a drive portion to move the cutting blade from the intervening position to a second retracted position positioned within the movable range and away from the target. The controller is configured to further perform updating the cutting data stored in the memory so as to indicate the second retracted position in place of the first retracted position.
Cutting instrument, coating and method
A new and improved cutting instrument is provided having an enhanced coating. The coating includes titanium, chromium, nitrogen and carbon elements and provides increased wear resistance. The coating can be applied to a variety of metal and non-metallic substrates, which include scissors and knife blades.
Tape cutting processing apparatus and processing method
A tape cutting processing apparatus includes a conveyance device conveying a component wrapping tape along a conveyance path, a detection device detecting the presence of a component accommodated in a cavity of the component wrapping tape conveyed along the conveyance path at a detection position, a folding-back member that folds back a cover tape at a folding-back position so that adhesion surfaces of the cover tape face each other as the component wrapping tape is conveyed, a cutting device that cuts each cutting portion of a carrier tape and the cover tape at a cutting position, and a control device that the conveyance device to position the carrier tape and the cover tape folded back by the folding-back member in a state of being overlapped on the cutting position, and controls the cutting device to cut the carrier tape and the cover tape.
Cutting fixture exhibiting ram actuated and multiplying lever force for removing such as an H-tap crimp from a utility power line
A cutting fixture for incising a tap portion installed between a pair power cables. A fixture body is mounted atop a power press tool in contact with a linearly advancing ram of the tool. The fixture body terminates in a downwardly facing support surface. A pair of levers are pivotally mounted to the fixture body, each including a bottom end profile and a roller at an upper end which, in response to upward displacement of the ram, multi-directionally advances to displace against an underside of a linearly movable carriage supported upon the fixture body in proximity to the levers. A cutting blade is supported upon the carriage and, in response to elevation of the carriage, displaces upwardly in a force multiplying fashion to section the H-tap positioned between the carriage and the downwardly facing support surface in order to permit its removal while preserving the integrity of the cables.

FOOD ARTICLE CUTTING BOARD AND RELATED METHOD
The present invention is directed to a cutting board for cutting food articles into parts. The cutting board having a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides defining an area of the cutting board. A lateral groove extends between the pair of long sides and differentiates the area of the board into a first platform and a second platform. The area is further differentiated into a third platform which is adjacent to the second platform. A blade pivotally coupled to the end of the lateral groove. The cutting board further comprises a finger guard and a food stopper.

APPARATUS FOR SLABBING ROLLS OF TISSUE
An unlaid slabbing apparatus capable of profiling a roll of tissue material by determining the diameter, circumference, and weight of the roll. The slabbing apparatus calculates the amount of material to be removed based on operator input and predetermined parameters of weight, diameter, and density.
Cutting device and printing apparatus including cutting device
A cutting device of a scissors type includes a fixed edge, a movable edge, and a support shaft configured to support the fixed edge and the movable edge to be capable of mutually rotating. A movable edge main body of the movable edge including a cut-off edge is cut into, centering on the support shaft, a fixed edge main body of the fixed edge including a cut-off edge. The cutting device includes a receiving member provided along at least an edge front side of the fixed edge main body and an edge front side of the movable edge main body and a pressing section configured to press at least one of the fixed edge main body and the movable edge main body to tilt in the opposite direction of the receiving member to be received by the receiving member.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSTALLING GEOTHERMAL HEAT EXCHANGER
A borehole is bored to a borehole target depth in a site and a geothermal heat exchanger is inserted into and then secured in the borehole at the desired depth. Once the heat exchanger has been secured in the borehole, the heat exchanger has a closed distal end and an open proximal end and has at least one fluid path between the closed distal end and the open proximal end, with installation fluid disposed in the fluid path(s). After securing the heat exchanger in the borehole and before excavation of a portion of the site immediately surrounding the borehole, the heat exchanger is temporarily sealed by installing, through the open proximal end, at least one respective internal seal in each fluid path. For each fluid path, the internal seal(s) will be disposed below a respective notional subgrade depth and excavation of the site immediately surrounding the borehole can proceed.
